yeah and you also could have had south fl play colorado is the BCS game
a 2 loss ohio st or miami is going to be better than a 1 loss tcu, utah, boise or fresno state, so theyve got to be perfect
just ask Urban Meyer
That's the problem with the BCS, you have decisions being made by people probably sitting around a table sipping coffee, deciding who goes where, who draws the most fans and money. In my opinion, any team that has one loss should be in the BCS picture, no matter what the school. So yes, TCU and Oregon St. should be in a BCS bowl. After all, they're both 10-1. I just can't get excited about a process that picks teams to play a bowl game based on a popularity contest. Let the teams play it out on the field, and that means having a playoff. The BCS got real lucky this year, b/c they have two unbeaten teams in the Rose bowl. But what about next year?

Yeah, post sounds pretty good until you do your homework.
Only played 3 PAC 10 teams (in reality one and that was the 19th Ranked 9-4 Huskers' 23-20 loss to #4 12-1 Az in the 1998 Holiday Bowl). The one before that was the 1975 Fiesta Bowl vs ASU, another three point @$$kicking by the undefeated and #2 Sun Devils (three yrs before ASU joined Pac 10)
But if you have to go back to The 1941 Rose Bowl vs Stanford to help prove your point...We did lose that one by 8. My heart was really crushed that day, but we represented the Big Six well that year. Just could not stop that powerhouse Stanford Indians team from the Pacific Coast Conference and that dreaded innovation, the T-formation. That threw us for a loop! But, those Indians were the Split National Champions that year with Tennessee and Minnesota (should have had the BCS then!!)
Though all losses, I call none of them @$$kickings...
Thats Terrific!![]()
actually this year the fiesta bowl lucked out with not actually having to make any at large picks because of the lsu and va tech losses. just like last year with texas and utah, ohio state automatically got a berth because they finished #4 and notre dame automatically got a berth because they finished #6. i wonder if they wouldv'e picked ohio state to begin with... probably so... while sipping coffee.
Ohhhh, burn you Brewski. You see, Nebraska owns the Pac-10 in moral bowl victories. Burn. Burn.
Say what you must, 'twas not the point...If one has JACK, one must bring it without going off half ed. Not brought...
NEXT...
I suppose you will say something like the POCK 10 has more NCs than Nebraska...duh... One team vs a conference is a weak argument at best, if an argument at all. Bring Big XII/Big 8/SWC/Big Six arguments in vs POCK 10/"SEC"ond fiddle/Assisi/elven eleven/etc... Historically, over 110 yrs plus, Team vs Conference is pretty lame.
But, continue flaunting your rudimentary arguments/statements if you must. I do not mind, and I am sure the others find them amusing as well. What matters is the present. Ore-GONE probably suffers from being in the Pacific Time Zone, lacking the charisma (and commercial prowess) of Touchdown Jesus, and wearing tacky colors (my 8 yr old daughter added that one).
ORE-GONE can enjoy the pleasant weather in San Diego, the love of Shamu, and a nice tax-deductible POUNDING from Adrian Peterson and the rest of that BS (boomer-sooner) team from the Dirty Dozen on 11/29. My emotions are split. I am very happy to be able to go see my beloved Huskers whack the wolverines, but sorry I cannot watch them F#$K the DUCKS. Guess we have to leave that job to our nasty BIG XII bretheren from the Sooner State.
Better yet, VY will burst through the Trojans for another rose colored season.
Final Tally Dirty Dozen III, POCK-10 nil
I am surprised no one has chimed in supporting the Elven Eleven... AHHHH, but only a matter of time I am sure.

That be why I habe dis "O" on my hat!
what have the ducks ever contributed to college football? Joey Harrington?
I honestly think that Ohio state and Notre dame are better football teams than Oregon state. It sucks that they did not get in but that is life.
Yes. The last of the Junction boys were seniors in 1956 and defeated the t-sippers 34-21 in Austin.
It's Oregon, not Oregon State. Oregon State finished 5-6 and did not make it to a bowl game.
I honestly thought it was oregon state, my bad I guess that shows how much national attention they demanded this year.
No. It just shows how this forum is full of guys like you who pretend to actually know something about the Pac-10, but don't even pay attention to football outside their own conference.
Actually I really don't support one conference or another, I went to school(at one point) in a non-conference school then to a div 1-AA school. Anyway I really enjoy the PAC-10 , I even bought game plan this year in order to be able to watch the pac-10 since there were so many good teams in the conference, honestly it is the most stacked conference in the country. Unfortunately I feel that is the main reason that oregon kind of got ignored. They did not have the National attention like some of the other schools had.
I apologize for offending you and will whole heartedly admit that I do not know a lot about the Pac 10, I never said I did. the only time I can find anyone interested in talking about the PAC 10 is when I am in California.
But I have seen Oregon play 2 games and still think that Ohio state and notre Dame are better football teams.
But USC... Go trojans... I am not a big 12 fan.
Nah. Not cryin about it. Just stating a fact.
BTW...I follow it all, and enjoy the history of the game!
