Holy crap ... I just looked up the emergency contraceptive doses for Ortho-Tricyclen and it's a lot more than the three it used to be .... I guess they are a lot *weaker* these days.

Dose #1 ... 4 of the yellow pills
Dose #2 (taken 12 hours later) ... 4 more yellows.


Good God, if someone could take that many at one time and not vomit themselves to death, they deserve not to be pregnant if they don't want to be.

In any case, if Walmart is not selling the morning after pill because of moral reasons, if they already dispense regular birth control pills technically they do anyway...so it's stupid.

If they don't dispense them for "business" reasons, it's still stupid...because they aren't that expensive and don't take up a lot of shelf room.

No, that's what I originally said.

If it's a moral reason, then it's stupid because they do it anyway by dispensing *regular* birth control pills.

If it's a business decision, it's still stupid because it's not that expensive and it doesn't take up a lot of shelf room. 3, 4, or 8 is still less than 28. I wonder how much Viagra they keep on hand? They'll aid method but not the consequences of it?

If a pack of 28 birth control pills costs <$40, how expensive do you think a single morning after pill is...when someone can use 3 birth control pills for the same purpose? I think whoever said it was a "business decision" rather than a moral one is full of .

But whatever...if they don't want to sell if for moral reasons....which is stupid because they already basically do.............then say so. It's not that big of a deal, IMO. I usually get my prescriptions filled at either HEB or Walgreens anyway.

Although I was wrong ... the "morning after" pill is actually 2 pills, 2 doses of 1 taken 12 hours apart.

I think there are only certain brands that you can do that with now. I used to take Nordette about 10 years ago and I think that was one of them that you could use for that purpose.

There were about 10 different brands on the dose chart I was looking at...I don't know if there are more or not, but those seemed to be the most popular brands.

Nordette was 4 & 4 of the light orange ones.
