What about TD's shooting? It gets worse and worse it seems. If he still had confidence in that mid range shot he'd be unstoppable. Maybe he should quit the bank shot and work with that shooting coach of Parker's.

CīMon, he will never be the PG we all ASk for him to be. We all Love him and donīt want to see him traded so, let sign Any decent PG in the league and Make Tony Our first option from the bank. He can still have his minutes and score the same amount of points without any "pressure"

    What do you think????

We don't really need a PG like Kidd and Nash who set people up because we have TD in the middle that gets everybody easy shots. He's really our "playmaker" though a lot of those are secondary assists. TP's role is to break down the defense when the Spurs are stagnant. He's among the best in the league at doing that.

    NO WAY

think of the franchise & WC best 63 wins Tony carrying us all while Tim is nursing his nagging plantar pasciitis.

let's be patient man. Manu had previous bad games too and still we supported him.

    - He had a bad night offensively (injuries?) in an otherwise good post season.

    - He played D (that's what you do when you'r on an off night) that's a sign of maturity

    - Look at how much he has improved EVERY year since becoming a Spur. I for one want to see where this leads.

True, Parker sucked. True, it could have been more than injuries that were the culprit.

But his play in the fourth was very good. I was worried when Pop pulled Van Exel, but Pop made the right choice and Parker had some good moments to close it out.

I want him to come back and play big in Game 7. At home with the Mavs doubting themselves is a great time to have a point guard who can ram in down their throats.

I really don't understand how people can even consider trading a guy that has the second highest PPG in the team for the entire playoffs. It was just ONE frigging game! Yes he was awful, but come on! does anyone really believe Tony was himself today and not hampered by injury or something else? This kid is going to come out and make everyone eat their words. I predict a huge performance by Parker in game 7, more than that, I guaransheed it!

don't worry fans in this forum practically wants to trade every player after a bad game.

if Pops listens to what they say maybe we ended up with only Marks playing for us right now

Why is that hard to understant that IT ISN'T ABOUT THE PPG?
The problem the people worried about Parker's case, even at his best games (when he scores a lot) it that it seems too one-dimensional, too predictable, and with loo little team awareness for a PG, even for a scoring PG (not asking him to become a Nash, for instance)...

If you have basketball experience, you can figure out that perhaps it's the main reason why Pop gives him so much chances to score.

Because aside scoring, there isn't a lot more where he can contribute, well, sometimes a good D, but in offense, he won't bring intelligent play to the offense, so if you want to make him useful, you have to try to make him score, unlike players like Tim or Manu, that can contribute a lot even in bad scoring days, due to their extremedly wide set of resources, skills, and fundamentals.

Spurs could use a good veteran, non flashy backup point guard, to be able to play in hot moments, when instead of scoring, speed and dribbling what is needed is more IQ, in the past Speedy or Kerr filled that role, it seems this year NVE isn't being able to do the same.

Tony is doing exactly what POP is asking of him. How is that one-dimensional? An NBA player actually doing what is asked of him! OH NO!

Hoops is, always has been, and always will be a game of momentum. This is why within every game there will be many streaks and runs as the momentum of players and teams swing. These swings in momentum swings happen for many reasons. When a star invokes his will, a coach or player capitalizes on a mismatch, a player makes or miss plays a key play, or a zebra gets brainlock and blows a call, player and team confidence and momentum can turn on a dime.

That said, I thought Tony had a rough first half. He missed opportunity to capitalize on some plays we are used to seeing him make, and he had a couple of tough calls go against him. There were a two walks and a charge that went against Tony early. The calls were momentum calls that could have went either way. All three of these plays were spin moves where Tony had acheived an extreme advantage, but was denied opportunity to capitilize. If one, or two or even all three of these calls go Tony's way, as they could have with just a little change in zebra descrition, the whole complexion of his confidence and the face of his game drastically chaTnges.

Tony needs to be applauded for working through the adversity, waiting for the swing in momentum to hit a key shot, snag a crutial rebound and knock down pressure FT's to play a huge part in iceing the game.

COME ON PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!...............Spurs won and thatīs the most important thing. If you want to reach the finals you have to play like a team, and it doesnt matter if tony didnt have a great game, spurs must win and thatīs it. Why are you always seeking the negative point?????.......This is a TEAM, so if tony played awful, where is the problem???....for that reason this team has other players like manu, tim and finley whose can appear.

    I would never trade Tony.

That being said, it is worrisome he tends to disappear in big games.

And yesterday's was the biggest game of the season (so far).

Tony, prove me wrong on Monday!!!!

Tony didn't look well. He seemed sluggish from the start and appeared tired. He almost looked ill. I don't think that what we saw was "past playoff Tony" reappearing. It just wasn't a good night for him and I think that a couple of days off will do him good.

I actually like it when Parker has a bad game. Means he becomes tentative to score and create...and gives the ball to his teamates.
