Excuse me I am not really an active regular, long time lurker. Spurs are my favorite team by far (I grew up in the DFW metroplex), but my dad made me into the Spurs fan I am today, so, do not think I'm a simple bandwagoner for this team. Basketball is a true passion of mine, I play it, love it, and it's a huge part of my life, with that, I can say the Spurs are truly the classiest team in the league and I am happy to be apart of the team's fanbase despite the fact I only spent vacations and a few times in my life in San Antonio.

All throughout the regular season we saw Parker as a great player, always executing on the offensive end, making good shots, we thought he improved dramatically from "Playoff Parker"... but then this series came along.

Is Parker really the future of this franchise? Do you think the team should continue hoping on the fact that "he's young, he'll be more consistant?"

His post season play, while you can say stastically he is way better, but from tonight we see he is making bad decisions and often plays badly during the "really important" games in the post season.

If he continues this bad trend of post season play next post season, do you believe it's time to package him? A player like Ben Gordon would be an excellent addition to the team. Clutch, strong, quick, and just as young. Or do you think they should continue the "Parker is young, he'll be more consistant" thing until Parker eventually is no longer young?

He must be injured. He wasn't even attempting to get to the rim.

Forget the injury, it's the mental thing. Shooting the 3-pointers! That's not what Pop told him FOR SURE!

He was horrible tonight. But he's averaging 20ppg in the series. So I wouldn't give up on him at this point.

(And yes, he's hurt but he was still horrible).

But he did hit his FT's in the clutch.

What about Parker? He hit two clutch free throws at the end.

    Team won. Bottom line.

Parker has a great future ahead of him with the Spurs, I'm sure. He got the Spurs to 63 wins plus some playoff wins this season, seemingly single-handed as the only scorer in many games when the others were hurt. He would have fit right in on one of the All-NBA teams (at least 3rd team with Arenas).

Tonight, TP was clearly dragging his injured leg around. He was stiff-legged and calculated in his movements on D. He advanced the ball up the court as though he were wading through ankle deep water the whole night. He was short on almost every shot (no legs).

He still battled through it and did a great job of doubling Dirk and sagging back on D. He also nailed two HUGE FTs for the last Spurs points tonight.

Clutch is not only those 2 shots. Clutch was most of this game. I can write down tons of clutch shots Spurs players made tonight.

Pop was having fun with him at righ before the start of the second half! Probably telling him to relax. He redeemed himself with that jump shot and especially the free throws to put it out of reach. He'll kick ass in Game 7.

Waht about him? He disappeared in the 1st 3 Qtrs but contributed some points for us to get the Win.

    1. The Mavericks weren't fazed. Devin Harris' 13-foot pull-up put Dallas ahead 81-80 with 3:37 left. The Spurs called timeout. Parker, just 2 for 13 at the time, hit a 19-footer.

    2. With Finley pressing him, Nowitzki missed a 3-pointer from the right corner. Parker grabbed the rebound and was fouled with 5.5 seconds left. He made both free throws.

    i think it was cool.

I don't think we need to complain...his clutch jump shot and FT's down to the last minute counted when we needed it....

He's obviously hurt, and was mentally shaken....Timmy with foul trouble and Tony can't play worse will hopefully get all the Spurs ready to the blow the Mavs out... 8 points from Tony hopefully is a fluke, and hopefully homecooking will get him back to his normal consistent self--minus the turnovers this time though....

Would not dismiss him just yet!

He has contributed positively in this post-season!

That's the beauty of the Spurs -- different people can step up at different times!

The main problem with Parker is not his inconsistency, from an euro point of view (more team-oriented), the main problem with Parker is that, despite being european, he is less team oriented than the average american player...

Parker is a great individual player, with grat specific features (speed and dribbling the main), but a bit one-dimensional, becomes too predictable sometimes, he's far from having more resources when he has a bad night (for isntance, Tim and Manu on bad nights contribute in one or another way, and keep looking the best for the team).

When Parker has good games, he scores a lot, and that's great, but even in those games, we don't see a player with team-awareness as a major priority...that wouldn't matter in another franchise perhaps, but in Spurs, a franchise who is le conteder year after year, perhaps that's not so forgiveable...Spurs and Pistons are more team-oriented, and I'm sure that's not the best for them.

When Parker has a bad night, forget it...as one-dimensional as he is, without scoring, he becomes pretty much useless...

Ok, he made those final FT tonight, but that shouldn't make the people foirget the big picture, don't you think?

    Parker was horrible.

However, he settled down in the fourth, played pretty good defense, and hit a big jumper and the FTs.

All this year I think his development as a playmaker has regressed in favor of him scoring, but that's was the conscious decision of the coaches, not him.

Parker was bad through 3 qtrs but got it done in the 4th. You want to know what else about Parker? He kicked ass last game despite being around 50%. The kid has turned the corner, he is just banged up. He will be huge on Monday.

Ok, yeah the big picture is he hurt us a lot at the beginning until Coach decided to sub Van Exel who actually helped contribute for the team's ball movement, and Ginobili put the team on his shoulders manning the offense and whatever in the 3rd...By the 4th he seemed more composed. He got a key rebound off of Dirk's Miss also...

But still if he had taken better shots he'd help us pitch in for a bigger lead by the way we've found our defense with this smallball...In the long run Tony, or Pop need to elevate his game so he can do what Tim and Manu do when they're not feeling it offensively, which is play the other end, and make key plays...

Otherwise we're just gonna have to regulate him to SG and get in another Backup PG who's like SPeedy or something, when Nick retires.

Yes, he did hit that excellent jumper and his clutch free throws.

It may have not been his best game, but I think we'll keep him!

Hopefully, three days of rest will help him get back on track.

Beno sure as didn't make the most of his time on the court -- all 2 seconds of it.

No way would I trade him for Gordon. Gordon is just as one dimensional, except he's a shooter. We have enough shooters, the league has enough shooters, it's tough to find a guy like Parker who can break down defenses. Parker is more valuable for sure.
