I think the requirements for the SF are that they be under the age of 30 and be long and athletic.

Drop the Tim Thomas talk, too old. Diaw? Under contract.

This team is going to have to improve through a trade and/or shrewd drafting. And before the idiots start dreaming up stupid trades, there isn't going to be any Marks for Nocioni bull , so don't start.

    Here's your list:

    Bonzi Wells
Matt Harpring (I don't think he's quick enough, but I'm throwing his name in the hat for discussion)
    Vladimir Radmanovic
    Jumaine Jones
    Rasual Butler
    Donta Smith
    John Salmons
    Keith Bogans

Things to look for include whether we can leverage Mohammed into a SF. Chicago seems to be the front runner, and they have a wealth of talent on the wings with Deng and Nocioni.

Will the New Orleans deal be revisited? Barry for JR Smith and Arvydas Macijauskas sure has a nice ring to it.

I think folks better get used to the idea that a lot of our Spurs won't be here next year. Pretty much everyone not named Tim, Manu, Tony, and Bowen are going to be on the block.

Add Finley to that list. Is that list FA's only?

whott - yes, only 6'6", but would be a good matchup with Howard, who gave us a lot of problems, or Terry for that matter.

E20, sorry, Finley is expendable for the right piece.

Marcus/Sparky - Jumaine does, and I like his game. Charlotte seems to have a lot of admiration and respect for our franchise, and Bernie and Pop are good friends. With Charlotte having a high draft pick, I could see them being willing to part with one of their wings, either via letting him go or sign and trade, in two months time.

    J. R. Smith is a must if the deal can still be made. The guy has the kind of talent Spurs fans have only wished for. In addition, he's young and very athletic. He is not a long SF, but he is a big SG (can U say energy off the bench).

A deal for Chandler may or may not happen. I am thinking NOT. Chicago can't be that stupid.

At the end of the day, Spurs will evaluate Javtokas, Mahinmi, Scola, and Sanikidze for roster consideration. It is very possible that Mahinmi will surprise everyone during summer league.

    Stay tuned, . . .

Spurs might have to go find someone who is cheap and not very popular.

Someone who is on the verge and with a good coach and great team environment and playing along Tim Duncan will push that player over that hump and become good enough to make a consistent and positive impact on the team.

Stephen Jackson, anyone? Indy is rumored to be shopping his azz. He's definitely long enough. Kori said that even though he was listed at 6'8" and Bowen at 6'7", Jack was considerably taller.

    Wow....

Jax's slashing and fearless shooting....would be great....

Yet, his defense is a little shady....

It would be a gamble, but my guts say the Spurs stay away.

And who would we be trading for Stephen? Could a sign-and-trade with Mohammed and another team in the mix help us get him?

Remember the team defense with Jackson and Bowen guarding the wings? We were ing bad ass defensively that year. Of course, we had robinson.....

Yeah, I don't know what the Pacers would want.

I don't think they are in desperate need of Mohammed.

    Well, let's think...

Could a deal maybe send something like...

    Deng to Indy
    Mohammed to Chicago
    Jackson to San Antonio

I doubt it, but I'm just pondering.

Does Salmons play with Philly? Wasn't he a draft pick of ours?

I think the biggest problem of our entire Spurs existence right now is that we don't have a first round pick.

That is going to KILL us, and limit our options. I worry for this summer.

More of an upside in my opinion.

Rasual Butler is available. He is Bruce's size. Does he have any skills?

He can shoot the 3ball: 38% on 242 shots this season.

Yeah, Salmons was a pick of ours.

We traded him the Claxton deal.

    Butler, he's a good talent.

Qyntel Woods is available. He is long at 6'8", and I know Pop has wanted him. Matt Barnes is also out there. , even Devin Brown might be available.

Dude, the talent in the draft this year is ing weak. Get over it.

My top 3 targets would be

    J.R. Smith
    Rasual Butler
    Jumaine Jones

Pop: "We need a Derrick McKey type".

    Exactly.

Jesus I said the same exact thing to my friend the other day (who is a Maverick fan). No joke. I wish we had a prime Derrick McKey, he used guard Michael Jordan well. Could guard from 2 to 5. Could do a great job against Dirk IMO.

no one mentions Jared Jeffries? Am I the only one who thought he did a great job on Lebron? He's restricted but the Wiz have to resign Caron Butler who's SF and they also have Jarvis Hayes who's a 6'8 SF, maybe they'd have an interest in barry or nazr.
