I am also a big supporter of Woods and even though he has that checkered history, he is 6'8 , big SF who can rebound and defend well. and from the looks of it he doesnt get into much foul trouble when play long minutes.

Hopeful Spurs '07 SF: Qyntel Woods, Trevor Ariza, Donta Smith, Jumaine Jones, Viktor Sanikidze
I'm glad to know he can defend. Anyone know what type of offensive game he has?

Could this be the guy to solve our future dilemma at the "3-spot"?

He can perform just about any kind of offensive play you can name, on the court or off it. A skilled athlete.

People need to let the animal abuse, pot, and whatever other altercation this kid has been through....

Why? Because the real picture is what matters to Popovich......he wants to win, make the squad better, and is always looking for talent that he can turn around.....

As a matter of fact, Popovich has already expressed interest in Woods before, and yes, that was with all the baggage.....and Woods declined.

So guess what? If he does land here this time around.....

Learn to like it, or just don't watch or root....it's simple.

    It's all about winning....

    Whats dumb about it?

    Do you personally know Woods?

How do you know the kid has not decided to cut off ties with the people he once aligned himself with? Or decided to change his life all together?

Is it clear and known that he abused animals and drugs? Yeah.

Did he have any problems up in NY? Not that I know of....

Is Popovich dumb enough to go and grab a kid, who he believes would still act in such manners? Don't believe so......

Stop ragging on his past and let the kid try and change his life around.....he's still young and could change his life around, and if the Spurs management want to take a chance with him.....they will obviously sit down and evaluate him.....and if they sign him, I would feel comfortable in their judgement.....and of course....support the team.

    If he's changing, fine.

I want to hear about it.

I haven't. And I won't start liking animal abuse because of the Spurs.

Listen, I don't like animal abuse either or the pot smoking ordeal.

However, when I said that people should learn to "like it"....it was meant as in Woods being on the roster....and not learning to like him him as a person or the incidents.

If "young and stupid" were a disqualifier from further opportunity, I would certainly be begging on a corner. He's done some really stupid stuff, but I haven't heard of him having problems with teammates, the coaching staff or the front office like DMiles is having now in Portland.

I'm not advocating throwing big bucks at him, but if he's available for a reasonable price, maybe you give him a chance. He's like Ariza...with offense and shooting.

Yeah, I think when he got caught with the pot he was in Portland with those other boneheads, and of course....he was young, and could of easily been influenced by what he was seeing in his other teammates.

I also haven't heard anything about him causing problems with teammates, coaches, etc....

What he has done off the court is focused on more than what he is able to do on the court, which is perfectly understandable.

But, he was rather quiet in New York, so hopefully, from here on out....people will see the past as the past, and his game and talents will be what people will be talking about from here on out.....wherever he happens to land.

Woods on the other hand can be signed on the cheap. He can rebound, defend, and dunks with authority. What is there not to like?
that he can defend might be news to the world of basketball.

are you serious when you ask what is there not to like?
    just a question in return:
there is a player, who is with 4 different teams in his four years career, who is waived by two of the teams, traded by the third one and not resigned by the fourth and who, despite obvious talent, can't find a team that signs him even for the minimum.
could it be, that beside drug issues (twice) and animal abuse, there are some more things not to like.

Consider what happened to Devin Brown this year. The guy was 4-5 from 3 last night and had 19 pts in 20 something minutes. Being rejected even for a minimum contract sure has a way of motivating players.
