Latest reports (from some lithuanian posters on other boards) about Maccabi are that javtokas' agent has said in a lithuanian newspaper that this rumor was bul .
But didn't the rumors orginate from a Javtokas interview?

I'm not sure he mentioned Maccabi in this interview. He just said that he has received some good offers from european teams too.
Maybe he has received an offer from Maccabi but it's far from negociating with them.
I thought there was a quote from him in that interview talking about Maccabi.
Which interview ?
He made one with some lithuanian press where he said that he will leave Rytas for an european team or Spurs and that his priority was the lithuanian NT for the moment. I don't think he speaks about Maccabi in this one.
After, there is a supposed interview he made with israelian press where he said that he will likely sign with Maccabi.
I am talking about the interview in the Israeli press (which was actually before the Lithuanian article).
I am not trying to be mean, but no one has seen this iserali newspaper. If someone did it would have to be translated because I don't know hebrew.
If Adonal Foyle and Brian Cardinal can get $40 million in the NBA Javtokas would be a fool to go to Israel.
In fact his interview with the Lithuanian presss was made before the Israeli press article : http://www.lrytas.lt/?data=20060523&...6348216&view=4
He just said in this interview (from 05/23) that there are good offers from european teams.
My guess is that he has received a good offer from Maccabi but he hasn't really negociated with them. I doubt too that Javtokas has said what was reported in the israeli article. Lithuanian articles were too sceptical about that news.
Yes they have. It's already been posted.
Okay that's not the Lithuanian article that I was talking about. You are right - it's before the Israeli article which was around 5/30. But I believe the Israeli article directly quotes Javtokas talking about Maccabi but saying he doesn't have an official offer from them. So you are saying you don't believe those quotes?
I've understood that too.
Yes, I don't believe them.
In the lithuanian newspaper I've translated, they insisted that it was "according to an israeli newspaper" and they pointed they said in a previous article that he was close to signing with Spurs.
I think that javtokas has never been close to signing with Maccabi and that his signing with Spurs is a done thing.
Ehhh, the chances of us outbidding a team with money are slim and none, hence chances of us finally getting a center who can dunk and has passion are slim and none
I think that's the Cliff Notes version of the truth.
eh? His best chance for $ is joining the NBA.
in the words of dusty regarding KiDD to the spurs "it is a lock"
So quote me on this
Javtokas to the spurs its a lock
Do you know something about Javtokas' wife maybe? Does she want to be a star?![]()

Absolutely correct. "Hamas" should be capitalized.
Yeah because palestinians would NEVER EVER target athlets. or target people that play for a jewish state. and Surely if they would never kill him outside of iseral.OH wait there was that one time in muinch.
Oh Hamas and assocated groups are KNOWN for their PERCISON wepaons and always target miltary targets. They never would kill civilans.
Ofcourse they have a truce to end violence. Oh wait wrong once again that just got canceled.
