You have to ask, ?![]()
whottt why did you put horry on your avatar are you insane>??!?~??~?
Good point...
TimVP, can you make me an AJ avatar?![]()
Ahhh it definitely went after the Left harder than the Right...perhaps it seems equal...but the fact of the matter is that the right hasn't had the Hollywood Stage to spout off their politics and spew their venom, to the degree that the left has for the past 35 years...
It was the degree to which the left was attacked in a Cinematic release which was unusual...
The attack on the right was tame by stadards of the past 30 years...You get much more right bashing in a typical 5 minute Oscar acceptance speech than you do in the entireity of this film...
IIRC, this film didn't even allude that Bush was behind 911...That was pretty much the Democratic Party line in this past election...
Tame...and the H Liberals are the ones that get killed(and lose).
Sure, it's rare to see the Left dumped on in a movie, which is why most lefties who saw it immediately slipped into denial mode and most conservatives didn't see the slights delivered to them.
The movie offered something for everyone and yet, it clowned them at the same time. If you can get people to laugh when the joke's on them, you're doing something right.
The genius behind the movie is that it makes the statement that all left and right wingers, are ing idiots. People should look at each situation for what it is and base their opinion on the situation only. Not on whether you are a conservative or liberal. I don't agree with all of the stuff the right wing people say and do, the same way I don't agree with all the left winger liberal . I think people need to stop trying to stay within a classification and base beliefs on what's right, not on what a political party tells you to believe.
That's just my two nickles....
you. I said it ing attacked the left worse and it did...
What did they call the right? A bunch of sucking boyscouts or something to that effect?
Gee...that's cutting edge...for 1966.
You know what?
You are dangerously close to letting your libertarianism turn you into a PC pussy...you ing scale.
It may sound good to say both were bashed equally...they really weren't...I think the lefties that picked up on this are sharp...and of course they won't laugh at themselves over it...half those clowns can't handle someone killing a roach without getting emotional over it...how you expect them to handle criticism?
And while historically it may have been accurate to say both sides are equally ed up...
It really isn't the case anymore...the Democrats are far more ed up here, they reside on the extreme left, ...and the second most of ed up group of people are those that think the parties are equally ed up...
This is not to say that the right isn't seriously ed up...but it's the model of sanity compared to everything else...
I am hoping this changes of course, and that the crats will snap out of it and give us a respectable candidate in the next election...because I really think we are in danger of becoming too right oriented, but that's still the better choice than the self destructive and clueless path the left seem determined to take. Right now the choice is moving backwards or self destruction...I'll take moving backwards for the time being.
But back to my original point...
you. The left got bashed worse in this film...it's obvious.
I don't know, whottt. I just watched the film two nights ago, and I thought it took plenty of shots at the Right, too. In fact, the majority of shots at the left are aimed at the actors and actresses portrayed in the film, and Parker and Stone note in some of the other materials that they have a rampant distaste for actors period, which may account for the vitriol more than any particular ideology.
Still, I think the film was fair in the shots it took at both sides -- but again, it takes those shots against extremists on both sides, not those who are in the middle, like most of us.
If you believe that anyone who votes Democrat is some extremist, America-hating liberal, then nothing will convince you that Parker & Stone took a different tack than the one you choose to see.
My my. Someone's panties are in a bunch.
The hits on conservatives came in the form of the caricatures of those for the 'War on Terror' in the film. That means Team America itself. A number of the tunes were downright hilarious and definitely weren't hits on the left, such as the theme song itself as well as the "Freedom Isn't Free" song, a rather obvious slam at the variety of country hits that showed up after 9-11. If you weren't thinking Toby Keith after you heard that you don't know who he is.
So whottt falls into the category of those who saw the film through partisan eyes, those who didn't realize they were being clowned too.
Congrats.
Oh, and You.
Sorry Marcus, I didn't intend for my post to cause you to have to switch handles...
I'll bbiab to explain things more clearly.
Personally, I, Jim Rome, Thought The Script Was Blase And The Movie Drawn-out And Boring.
Instead, You Should Spend The Three Hours Listening To Me, Jim Rome, Talk On My Show, The Jim Rome Show.
Damn I must be the second most ed up person on the planet. Because I think both the Democrats and the Republicans are bags. I think every political party is, including the one you support whottt.
