If it happens and Bonner doesn't work out, he is gone after next season.
Someone over there said Oberto wears a soccer-style headband when he plays...did I miss this?![]()
If it happens and Bonner doesn't work out, he is gone after next season.
Let's not go overboard here. The most he scored last season was 16 points for Pete's sake. He's here for range and mobility. He's no Derrick McKey, but hopefully he could be something like Danny Ferry or regular season Horry.
If this rumor is true, of course...
To cover the obvious, why would the Raptors move him?
Maybe because they are thinking about taking 6-11 Andrea Bargnani w/ the first pick.
When are the Spurs going to get a badmother errebounder?
I hope this isn't a joke.
We'd get more in return than I ever thought we would for Oberto alone.
the new gm wants to have his team not the other gms that is why raps do this move
If this is true, I like this deal a lot.
Bonner can be a decent player (I haven't a lot of expectation) but the better thing is that he has $2M left on his contract while Oberto has $5M left.
Good question, kind of depends on whom they plan on drafting. Colangelo does have some love for Euro players though, and an outside for inside bigman trade does pass the smell test for them just as the opposite works for us.
it looks like twine in his hair. very similar to the string nash was wearing in his hair a few years back.
Cool. He's cheap just like Peter.
Well, we'll have a new VIA schill if nothing else.
So you got a 6'10" tall outside shooting bigman with a propensity to hustle. I like the theme but how's the melody?
Both Villanueva and Bosh are true PFs, and as others have mentioned, they may add Bargnani to their collection as well.
Don't forget Humphries and rumors concerning Garbajosa.
Do you expect any other players to be involved, or even picks? Does Toronto have another 1st round pick besides the 1st overall?
IF this is even in the realm of possibility, do this trade before Toronto changes their mind.
That would be a significant upgrade.
As to why they'd trade:
Bosh, Charlie, MoPete, and they're staring at Bargnani. Total log jam, and Oberto would be better than any center they have on their team right now (spare me Bosh is the center crap, don't even start).
No other 1st round pick. Only the 35th and 56th picks in the 2nd.
So Bonner is supposed to be a PF? He is listed as a C, that is why I am asking. Any chance that he is able to guard Dirk effective?
True enough. Pape Sow still isn't ready for primetime if they choose to keep him. I think we're going to see alot of Villanueva at the 3.
