I teach ESL classes here in Austin. I'm about to be 23 and it's time for me to see the world a bit more. That's why I'm moving.

Everyone can put their weapons away. Thanks for all the input, all.
    Good luck

I hope you like it there. Are you moving to Buenos Aires, or somewhere else?

You are really a hater to be an argentine... Why move to Argentina?? Because it's awesome to live here.
I have several friends from NY, Las Vegas, Los Angeles... France, Spain, Italy, Germany, etc... all of them working or "studying" (the latter is a cover up for partying heheh).
All of them are glad to be here and acknowledge a more "relaxed" way of living and the way people is to each other.
Yes, everybody knows there is some sense of insecurity (if you watch news channels all day, you get the feeling, otherwise not that much... leave the houses people, live your lives).
And they know they'll have to move back if they want to make some real money and save, but overall, they enjoy it.
I have the exact opposite reactions from argentines that moved to US. Yes, the money is great, but pick your poison.

I will not answer any aggressive replies, specially from the right-wing morons that see Argentina as Iraq. Even people in Argentina that likes to mention they "travelled a lot".
I see hendrix is being his old stupid self again... good it means I'm back home!

ATX Spur, I live in Buenos Aires too. It would be tough to summarise Buenos Aires in a few paragraphs, so I'll just try and answer the questions people here have asked. For the most part Alvarez is right, as well as Danyel and Marhq. I think you'll find people here are warm and welcoming, I don't forsee you'll have trouble in that sense.

As for the NBA, you'll have to settle for maybe 2 games a month and hope that the Spurs make the finals so that the morons over here decide to televise at least that. Otherwise just hang out here as usual and use live scores. For big games there are a few good places to go and watch, but again it all depends on wether or not there are any good football matches going on.

On the bright side public transportation is great in Buenos Aires, you can preety much get anywhere you want what with the buses, the train, the sub or maybe an occasional taxi (although they are getting rather expensive for us Argies ).

If you have any questions about anything having to do with BA I'll be more than happy to answer them .

...oooh. let me know if the girls are really as hot as they seem to be....i may find my way down there if that be the case. i met a lot of hot argentina women working in Aspen this past winter.
you have about a dozen Argies in this forum and you ask him about the women over here? is it that you don't trust us to be impartial? Women are B E A U T I F U L over here! All my american friends that have come to visit Argentina have always commented on that. We have beautiful landscapes, beautiful architechture, rich and colorful history... and yet all the commented on was the women ! ... Its understandable
