"chumphumper" is making a value judgement when he goes all jerry fallwell on Ron Artest and ignores his abilities on the basketball floor to say he deserves no shot.

i invoked the notion of "sin" because it was funny to me that he and his ilk are standing in judgement of ron artest etc. Ive done some bad things in my life too, but i'd still like to be considered for Team USA if I was (arguably) the greatest defensive basketball player in the world as well.
No one is saying that Ron Artest is a bad person because he went into the stands. That is a value judgement.

What I and some of the other posters are saying is there are much better solutions to the US team trying to win the gold than putting someone on the team who is emotionally a trainwreck.

"He's got a crush on me." I read this and thought, okay that was a very 5th grade type of insult.
Yeah, maybe a little tough for you, but I think you should work for it.
"I dont expect you to be smart enough to understand." No wait, that was even more so of a lame grade school dorky insult.
Merely stating a fact. I still suspect you're just pretending to know.
Your rhetoric in arguing/talking is sorely lacking.
Hows this one...chumpdumper is gayer than AIDS.

Your move, ya cake eating son of a .
I don't even know why I should be talking to you. Honestly I don't remember much about you except you're another mavfan who fails miserably at trying to post like Marcus Bryant. It's obvious you care much more than I do, because you simply aren't on my radar except for these drive-by stalking incidents.

mavfan is in such a lather over me that he fails to realize I'm simply talking about Ron's chances of making Team USA and my amusement at anyone who thinks he seriously could have been considered to represent this country after running into the stands to attack fans on national tv is an idiot. If that group of idiots includes pussyface, I'm not at all surprised.

Artest should of at least got a try out. Artest is much better than Bowen, Miller, or Jamenson.

Artest instead of Lebronze or Carmarshmelo and the USA wins Gold. The biggest strength in Artest's game is defense and that is what USA lacked.
That`s rediculous. Without Carmelo the US might not have come even to the semifinals...

o USA had no problems with scoring. It was their defense that failed them. You don't need 5 players that are superstars. A lineup of Billups, Wade, Artest, Bosh, and Brand would have plenty offense and some defense as well. Unfortunately Billups and Artest didn't get to play this year on that team.

Artest should have at least never run into the stands to attack fans. It's not my value judgment, it's the judgment of every official on USA Basketball. Why deny that it ever happened?

it would be fun to see what Artest does in Japan though,

He will probably talk about being a Tru Warier, and how the samurai were Tru Warier's also. He will also tell us he has always wanted to be a samurai.

its not really stalking when you come across someone posting and disagree with their moralistic bull . thats what this board is about.

also, you have misrepresented yourself. you were not merely reporting that Artest does not have a chance at making Team USA, you were actively advocating that he was not worthy of one.

    also, who is marcus bryant?

    anyway, in conclusion, kill yourself

If they had Bowen instead of Miller they probably wold've won.

If they had Kobe they would've won.

If they had Marion they would've won.

If they had a coach who knew the names of opposing players they would've won.

If they had a coach that didn't rely on a gimmick defense and isolation offense they would've won.

Artest was not necessary for gold.

I am sure they considered him, but since Team USA is a representative, ambassador type of position as well as a basketball position, Im sure they didnt want anyone who would be any more inflammatory than the people who are already on it.

While the negativity towards Artest is completely understandable, try to remember that this is a man who used black permanent marker on his white court shoes for his first game with Kings (which was away).

An apologist I'm not, however he revamped our team with his mere presence on the court. Single handedly, like some kind of god!

Sure he's a bit short on headmass and a little long on emotion, but honestly that's what makes him work the way he does. He doesn't give a what anyone thinks, he just plays and plays and plays.

I'd rather have an unbalanced Artest than an underachieving piece of crap player who believes, deep down inside, that he's better than all others in his class.

See, Ron knows he's good, and he wants a piece of the action in every way imaginable. The difference is he's willing to work for it. No one's going to hand him something, he takes nothing for granted. Pure idealist on the court with 100% heart to back it up.

Why didn't Artest get a call? Oh, I don't know, maybe because he PUMMELED A FAN AFTER HE GOT SAND IN HIS VAGINA. I mean really, if that guy were to set foot on any international floor with the USA written on his jersey, we'd have to scramble fighters to escort him to the lane. We've sent safter projectiles into Baghdad. There is a concept called risk vs. reward, which I am sure he doesn't understand.

Because he charged into the stands, throwing away his season and, arguably, his career, just to remove some sand.

I don't get all the Artest hate here. Sure he has a couple screw loose but he is a good teammate to play with. Sacramento I'm sure is happy he is on their team rather than on another team.

i don't think it is artest hate - it's pretty clear dude wasn't selected because of his past behavior. he's now living with the consequences of his actions.

I freaking LOVED Reggie Miller, he's right up there with Stockton, Allen, Garnett, & Kidd - who should have all won a ring. Well Garnett & Kidd may still, but you know....

Artest was Miller's teammate for just over three years, total. Reggie Miller played for 19 years. You see where I'm going with this?
