Psycho, you "represented" the USA once already in Nov 04, to world-wide amazement and scorn.
September 10, 2006 -- Ron Artest continued his assault on USA Basketball last night, saying sneaker companies have too much of a say in who competed at the World Championships last month in Japan. Still smarting after not even getting a tryout for the squad, Artest also blamed politics for his being snubbed.
"They didn't even give me a chance to represent them," Artest said before last night's All-Star Classic for Wheelchair Charities at the Garden. "I was one of like 10 players in the league that came out and said I want to play, and they didn't even give me a chance to play."
While Artest has made it a mission to help Wheelchair Charities, an organization that provides specialized beds, wheelchairs and transportation for those in need, Knicks guard Stephon Marbury was a no-show at last night's annual fundraiser. Originally scheduled to appear, Marbury blew off the game so he could continue his sneaker-selling tour instead.

if artest was on the team, we would probably have won gold!
Then Nikos Zisis would be suing him instead of Varejao!![]()
Artest has "international incident" written all over him. Why are he and his apologists so oblivious to the fact he blacklisted himself?
Artest sure does crave attention and controversy. He is such a whiny little wanna-be tough guy.
He's also the best 3 in the NBA. If he kills an opponent, so what? You can put His Holiness LeBron into the game. You'll lose all the perimeter defense from that position, but you won't lose any offense and will even pick up some rebounding. It's worth the risk.
Since when is the teams appearance more important than their performance?
Artest and Bowen would have helped that team tremendously. Bowen at least got a shot. People are getting caught up in politics. I don't give a what our USA team "looks" like, I want to win.
Since Artest went into the stands to beat up fans.Since when is the teams appearance more important than their performance?
I have no doubt of this.
With artest you´d have two options:
Gold or an International Incident.
Even though he is a Hannibal Lecter Pycho personality he can play.
I wouldn`t say the same of many USA Basket players (Including Lebronze)
Gus
If they had Bowen instead of Miller they probably wold've won.
If they had Kobe they would've won.
If they had Marion they would've won.
If they had a coach who knew the names of opposing players they would've won.
If they had a coach that didn't rely on a gimmick defense and isolation offense they would've won.
Artest was not necessary for gold.
hey chumpdumper.
if your going to be the morals and values police, as you clearly are interested in being in this case, why stop with artest?
Kobe Bryant is off for adultery. He too is a sinner.
Artest would bring the kind of toughness that the team sorely lacked. He has paid a hefty price for his indescrition (unlike Bryant who got off with a high priced lawyer and a multimillion dollar bribe to his wife.)
Leave your value judgements out of it...let's stick to basketball evaluations.
later, cool guy!
chumpdumper..."this guy dumps chumps!"
it has recently occured to me just how lame your little online name is. it is exemplary of your tendency to try to be funny, while only managing to be irritating and obnoxious.
The are you talking about? It's just a name. You think yours is better?
Don't mind him, he's got a crush on me.
And as for Kobe, he didn't run into the stands and attack fans. It's not a value judgement, it's a plain fact. We're talking about why Ron isn't on the team, idiot. I don't expect you to be smart enough to understand.
Artest instead of Lebronze or Carmarshmelo and the USA wins Gold. The biggest strength in Artest's game is defense and that is what USA lacked.
Who's making a value judgment? Why are you talking about sin?
Listen, Artest forfeited the right to control his destiny more when he made the NBA look like ultimate fighting. He can pay his penance, and that and time will certainly help his image, but that doesn't say anything towards his being able to represent the USA in international play. I hope he never does. He's an accident waiting to happen.
congratulations, moral majority. you win this time.
"chumphumper" is making a value judgement when he goes all jerry fallwell on Ron Artest and ignores his abilities on the basketball floor to say he deserves no shot.
i invoked the notion of "sin" because it was funny to me that he and his ilk are standing in judgement of ron artest etc. Ive done some bad things in my life too, but i'd still like to be considered for Team USA if I was (arguably) the greatest defensive basketball player in the world as well.

"He's got a crush on me." I read this and thought, okay that was a very 5th grade type of insult.
"I dont expect you to be smart enough to understand." No wait, that was even more so of a lame grade school dorky insult.
Your rhetoric in arguing/talking is sorely lacking.
Hows this one...chumpdumper is gayer than AIDS.
Your move, ya cake eating son of a .
