That's the best argument you have? I'd probably trust JGW's dumb statements about as much as this fool. Weak. Very Weak.

Actually, most every major service ranks the P10 as the #1 conf this year.

This is a perfect example of why numbers and computers should never be used in college football to determine anything. You're gonna tell me that the Pac 10 and Big 10 are better conferences with better overall teams than the SEC? I'm not an SEC fan, but there is no way that I would want conference schedule that included Florida, Auburn, Ark, Tenn, LSU, even SC. That is absolutely crazy. Just goes to show that you can manipulate numbers to show you what you are looking for. Change a few things here and there and the SEC would be #1. Change a few more and the Big 12 would be #1.

I've heard a few people talk about it, but gotdamn if he isn't putting up a huge year. In a season where there isn't that one guy that is getting all they hype (i mean damn, Troy Smith is the favorite right now), shouldn't Colt at least be invited to the ceremony?

    McCoy - 170/246 2051yds 69.1% 8.34avg 27TD 4INT 12sack 172.10RAT

    Quinn - 216/338 2579yds 63.9% 7.63avg 25TD 4INT 24sack 150.04RAT

    Smith - 158/237 2006yds 66.7% 8.46avg 22TD 3INT 11SACK 165.87RAT
...you can't honestly believe McCoy should be a Heisman candidate? you can't honestly believe that.

that isn't my opinion. i only said that cause a tea-sip, whom shall remain unnamed, said the same thing about A&M being a top 25 team.

...as for my opinion. i think McCoy is having one UVA year. i am actually really impressed...though the Heisman is not all about #s, its about leadership and wins, i think McCoy could be a candidate this year.

he will be next year, thats for sure.

^ The kid has thrown 27 ing TD's with 4 int's, he's lead comebacks against ou in Dallas, in the 4th quarter against a 20mph wind with snow in Lincoln against Nebraska, and against a tough to beat at home Tech team. He's shown me he's a leader and is making better and better decisions every game. I do think he's worthy of Heisman consideration, but he's not at a level of play where he will actually win.

Let me Preface this by saying that I absolutely hate UT (Colorado Buffs Family)
What the makes Smith and Quinn anymore the leader that Mccoy is. You in there team meetings? You in the huddle? Sounds to me like your a bitter A&M fan. You have zero take on anything NFL or College. At least stick to one opinion and stand by it. I seriously don't know why I even responded to you.

BidDaddyMAtty: Today in the okie morning news mccoy responded to this 'talk' that apparently is out there (we're just not hearing it). He said that he should not even be slightly considered, and that he gives his teammates and coaches all the credit. Mack Brown dismissed the talk as well, saying the heisman is a "junior/senior award".

Without each team in the country playing every other team, it is all subjective analysis anyway. I could sit here and spew stats on why I feel the Big East should be the #1 conference, while you could do the same with the SEC, and Joe blow down the road does it for the Big-10, and so on. In actuality it's all pretty much meaningless anyway, except for the die-hard fan who feels the need to pound his chest and say HIS conference is better than yours. They don't give out any awards for best conference at the end of the year or anything - do they?

nope...as with a lot of things in sports, its all subjective and not fact....but, it provides grist for the mill that is the message board.

We're pretty much saying the same thing. But to ask you a question - if you had a conference vs. conference matchup (sort of like the Big 10 v. ACC Challenge in CBB) where the top SEC team played the top Pac 10 team, 2nd SEC team played 2nd Pac 10 Team, and so on - would you take the SEC or Pac 10 to win the series?

    CAL v. Florida
    USC v. Arkansas (rematch)
    Oregon v. Auburn

    Washington St. v. LSU
    Arizona St. v. Kentucky
    Arizona v. Georgia
    UCLA v. Alabama
    Washington v. South Carolina
    Stanford v. Vanderbilt

Of course who has the best conference is close to meaningless, but it's just fun to see who you think would match up.

I'd have the SEC 8-2, with USC probably winning and Arizona St. probably beating Kentucky. That's my opinion.

Too much depends on home field advantage. If they're playing on a neutral field the Pac-10 wins every game except Arizona v. Georgia and Stanford v. Vanderbilt.

^ John, no, nothing I took offense with concerning your post. I was just making an up arrow in reference to the entire thread and being somewhat forward in putting my opinion about Colt out there. My wildest dreams before the season began was that we could somehow still make a BCS game and not have a QB controversy. So, where we're at now makes me happy as , and having a QB like Colt who has preformed so well just makes me want to drool all over myself (which I sometimes do just for fun on the weekends).

Cal vs. Florida - would be an interesting match-up. I couldn't give a good prediction on that game as they are about even, IMHO.

USC vs. Arkansa - USC, but not anything like the first matchup.
    Oregon vs. Auburn - Auburn
Oregon St. vs. Tennessee - Tennessee
Washington St. vs. LSU - LSU
Arizona St. vs. Kentucky - Arizona St.
    Arizona vs. Georgia - Arizona
    UCLA vs. Alabama - Alabama
Washington vs. South Carolina - South Carolina
    Stanford vs. Vanderbilt - Vanderbilt

So I have SEC winning 6, the Pac-10 winning 3, and 1 toss-up. But that's just my opinion. Also, like another person said, it all depends on home field advantage, too. My opinions were based on the teams playing on a nuetral field.
