No way that an NBA team winds up in Vegas. NBA games would have to be taken off the board of every casino which would mean millions of lost revenue. Won't happen.

Actually, I have clients in Vegas (talking city/county government here...). They're aiming for the Kings (bringing them to Vegas), and their proposal to address gambling is to take all the Vegas games off the board, and the rumor is that will be 'good enough' for Stern.

I believe it's already been said by Stern/NBA that yes, that would be good enough and that it's also been already shot down by Las Vegas government. They aren't willing to take the proposed Vegas teams games off the board. I sat in on a couple press conferences of Stern and other league officials about it and I believe that's where it stands at the moment and neither side looks to give in.

It's much more traceable if you do it long distance (phone records, internet fingerprints ) which would be an inhibiting factor. Much easier to meet Guido on the corner for the hookup.

Sincerely I don't get it. How is having a team in LV more dangerous from the aspect of rigging the games because of gambling?

Seems like a bit of paranoia on the part of the NBA.
