But as it stands now, Shaq and Kirilenko are the only guys who have even pulled off a career quadruple double.
See the list above. Neither has done it.

    Slightly off-topic question:

Aside from the four quadruple-double occasions, has there been anyone who has pulled off a triple-double without scoring 10 or more points?
I'm not sure, but If I had to guess, I'd say Kidd. He's always an assist machine, but in his younger days, he was a rebounding and steals monster.

Anyway, we were just trying to figure out if any active player had a legitimate shot at doing that once in their careers.

No one's asking you for your guess based on the past jackass.

Did you see the question that was quoted in my post, jackass? The poster asked if anyone knew if an NBA player had ever done a triple double without points. The bolded text is the past tense of the verb, wit.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadruple-double

"The Quadruple-Double is a basketball term, defined as an individual performance in a game in which a player ac ulates a double digit number total in any four of these categories: points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocked shots. In NBA history, only four players have recorded quadruple-double performances and they are:

    * Nate Thurmond, October 18, 1974, Chicago vs. Atlanta; 22 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists, 12 blocks.
    * Alvin Robertson, February 18, 1986, San Antonio vs. Phoenix; 20 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 steals.
    * Hakeem Olajuwon, March 29, 1990, Houston vs. Milwaukee; 18 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists, 11 blocks.
    * David Robinson, February 17, 1994, San Antonio vs. Detroit; 34 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 blocks..."
Remember that the NBA never thought to make the quad double a statistic until relatively late. I'd guess some older players like Oscar Robertson and John Havilcek to name two probably had quad doubles that weren't recorded.

Yeah, we were pondering that, too.

Kareem also must have had a shot.

    "rebounding monster"

Jason is irrefutable proof that you don't have to be tall, athletic, high jumper, front-court player to be an excellent rebounder.

See the list above. Neither has done it.

    I said career...using career highs.

Shaq and Kirilenko have both done it.

Shaq's career high in assists is 10 and blocks is 15.

Kirilenko's career high in assists is 11 and blocks 10.

Both have have had countless doublt digit rebound and scoring performances.

I was attempting to project who had the skillset to do it using their career highs...

That's why I used the word career...quadruple double. And Shaq and Kirilenko are the only active players to have done that AFAIK.

As for a quad...any great shotblocker has the ability to do it. Doing it the way Alvin Robertson and Johnny Moore(almost) did it, with steals, is the hard way.

I guess Ron Artest or AI might be capable of pulling it off with steals...

Steals are weird...I think Drob had his career best game in steals in his final season.
Artest had 8 steals in the 1st or 2nd game of the season I believe.

Let's talk about the triple double double...

Registering 20 in 3 statistical categories...

Only one man has done it and he did it 3 times....in points rebounds and assists.

He went by the name of Wilt.

On that list of near quad doubles, Drob should have one more entry...because he almost had one against Shaq once upon a time.

Kirilenko and KG are likely the ones most capable. Gerald Wallace probably too, but he's not a big assists guy. Boris Diaw might be capable, if he didn't become a lazy fat-ass the summer. Chris Bosh might be too.

Looking at his college game and skills Joakim Noah may have a shot if he develops and his game translates.

Ben Wallace could maybe get a quad with points, rebounds, steals, and blocks.

    I know that's a reach.

Drob had one of those too....

Hakeem had like 5 or 6 of them.

Not as hard to do as a quad double.

Moore got his almost quad-doub against, I believe, Golden States. Story is the Warriors were offering to give him a easy steal, but Moore refused.

Oh, and here's a trivia question: who are the only players in NBA history with games of at least 20 points, 20 rebounds, and 20 assists (not all the same game)?

    Rif.

    Wilt Chamberlain
    Wilt Chamberlain
    and Wilt Chamberlain.

Oh you said not all in the same game....

    Magic Johnson
    Oscar Robertson

Would be my first 2 guesses.

    Russ never had 20 assists.
Magic, I'm pretty sure, never had 20 rebounds.

Wilt and Oscar are the only ones you got right, but there is one more.
