RE: Grant Hill
You can talk semantics all you want, but the bottom line is Hill has gotten a huge payday without doing squat. I personally, would have trouble sleeping at night.
I'd be pissed if that happened to my franchise.
And I am sure the Magic would have preferrred he retired about 4 years ago.
i miss the days when keith van horn, allan houston, brian grant, and dikembe mutombo
dominated this list.
or even nash...![]()
First of all, the Hawks are relying on players so young they're still in their rookie contracts...that's why the bang for the buck. Secondly, it's been a few games and while they've looked good, they still have no PG to speak of (Lue is a SG in a PG body) and no big (Zaza is a PF, not C). And on Joe Johnson, they paid him $20 mil UP FRONT without seeing him in a Hawk uniform first...that's a huge leap of faith. Not to mention they gave up Diaw and a first rounder to boot.
Joe is good, possibly great, but he's being paid that way. J-Smith is improving and he should net a $7-10 mil payday when he's eligible. J-Child, slightly less.
Bottom Line: When you suck so bad that you ac ulate top-of-the-lottery talent, it has to work out at some point in time. The Hawks look good in the early going, but as young and as depleted as they are at the 1 & 5, I'd give them 35 wins...max.
Sorry, I just live in the Atlanta area and would like to see a bball team that's functional and well-run. Until Knight is out (worst decision-making GM in the league) and the ownership situation is resolved (no one takes financial risk, i.e. signing big and longterm contracts, when they're not sure if they're going to get ROI). Nothing personal, just frustration on my part.

Michael Finley is not on the list???
Read again.
Spurs only are paying about 40% of that I think though.
Suns are only paying Jalen a small portion of that contract.
