Being the resident co Spurs/Hornets fan I have to say I have been advocating this signing most of the season. I've thought for a while that he would fit nicely and is needed. Unfortunately I haven't seen anything to indicate that he has signed. THe Hornets site is not reporting it nor is RealGM or anything. THe local media is horrible with the split city situation so the internet is usually the best source.

You attributed well enough. If that's what you saw/heard, you've done what you should.

Well I was just going off a friend saying "Hear on KABB"

Should've done due diligence and looked around, I know Kori and others hate it when misinformation is posted, ala "Charles Oakleys been signed".

Doh. I'll label it a rumor.

Does make a lot of sense though. As hoaxes go, it would be a good one.

    Hornets Sign Devin Brown

Veteran Guard Brings Depth to Backcourt
    December 22, 2006

OKLAHOMA CITY - The New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets announced today that they have signed free agent guard Devin Brown.
    (Read Devin Brown's bio)

“Devin is a proven NBA player and he’ll help strengthen our backcourt with his ability to play both the shooting guard and the small forward positions,” said Hornets General Manager Jeff Bower. “He will be able to come in and fill some of the void left by the injuries to Bobby Jackson, Peja Stojakovic and David West.”

Brown (6-5, 220) is a four-year NBA veteran, holding career averages of 6.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 216 games while a member of the Denver Nuggets, San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz.

The undrafted product of the University of Texas-San Antonio appeared in 81 of 82 games (14 starts) and played in a career-high 21.1 minutes for the Utah Jazz during the 2005-06 season, averaging a career-high 7.5 points along with 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists. Brown scored in double figures 24 times on the season, including two 20+ point games. He averaged 7.4 points per game for San Antonio in 2004-05 to help the Spurs win the NBA championship.

Good thing the Spurs could use a solidly built small forward who can rebound and guard players like Bonzi Wells

Having a bunch of soft jumpshooters is what this team needs. Is Hubert Davis or Dell Curry available?
