    but Timvp come on man

    this is a VETERAN team

sure, elson is out, and we have some new faces, but not fouling in OT, giving it to bonner in crunch time (as much as you approved of that play)

This is like last season all over again except worse

People time and time again said "its early, Spurs will peak in march....then april.....then may.......then a 2nd rd exit to a team that just never got it going despite Duncan's foot problems

This year we have no excuses

This team plays like an inexperienced JV team sometimes with the basic fundamentals of basketball going right over their heads (Oberto, learn how to BOX OUT)

And prior to this year I almost never gave Pop for anything, but I honestly would soundly approve of Pop sitting the next few weeks out in favor of PJ

yes, it's finally come to that
Finally someone tells it like it is! Ditch the rose colored glasses, people!

I bet these losses will be forgotten once the Spurs beat the Mavs Friday...

Friday is now more important than just beating the Mavs. We need a W.

    Damn, Spurs fans are classic

The Spurs played damn well from the time they were down 17 to catch all the way back up. They turn the ball over four times for the game and come up with repeated great stops and Spurs fans act as if they just watched a 25 turnovers nightmare.

Sitting Pop in favor of PJ? Is this the same PJ who drew up a play involving two passes with under four seconds to go and the Spurs down by four last game?

I would take these two losses and us administering an ass kicking against the Mavs than two blowouts and getting owned by them.

I don't think this was a bad loss. You need these close games to build playoff mettle. The season is still early.

The Spurs competed and responded with a ton of defensive stops. If Mark Blount is going to beat you hitting jumpers off the dribble, so be it.

Only thing that pissed me off was the lack of effort in trying to foul at the end of the game.
I agree, this might be the wake up call for them and pretty sure Pop thrilled right now!lol

I disagree with that. The Spurs have had plenty of wake up calls. They don't need anymore. They just need to start playing better basketball.

haha fine fine, the PJ bit was a bit much

but the scary thing is we only turn the ball over 4 times and still lost.....to a sub .500 team

This is the worst team the Spurs have had in a long long time

All I know is that Pop isn't getting it done, and before he goes off on his team he needs to stop and think about his subs utions, b/c while the losses shouldn't be completely blamed on Pop, he's the coach, and it's up to him to set the ship right followed by TD

Right now he's just as clueless with what to do with his players as they are tyring to figure out how to play good defense for 48 minutes

I hope in March I can look back at these posts and laugh (much like some of my posts in 2005) but it's one thing to be in a slump

but it's another to look like this team has no semblence of how to play ball

We're going for a championship and dropping games to sub .500 teams?

We've lost before to .500 teams but not at a time where we could use the momentum more than ever

a win over the mavs friday would probably shut all of us pessimistic fools up!

at least I know we won't face minny come playoff time (and if we did I wouldn't be worried but I'm just saying)

Can you moral victory your way to a championship?

If we lose to Dallas that would be three in a row, that says we got issues that need to be addressed

The Spurs haven't lost 3 in a row in some time and they won't be doing it at the hands of the Mavs.

Except in the playoffs last year. To the Mavs.

But I guess playoff losses don't count.

    1) Spurs fan makes a factually incorrect statement, citing that statement as evidence that the Spurs will not lose Friday
    2) Mavs fan points out error
    3) Flustered Spurs fans divert attention from the issue at hand by addressing something completely irrelevant to the topic at hand.

    Yep. Sounds about right.

That's right. The season is still early. It seems that when the Spurs don't come through some pain during the season, they don't have it in the playoffs.

The Dallas fans are still crowing -- they don't yet realize that Dallas '06 is Sacramento '02 . . . and the future will unfold thusly for the never to be crowned.

Ya know, this is the second third maybe fourt or fifth time, this team has come from way behind to win, or force overtime.

Theres one thing you can say about this team, it has a never say die at ude.

They had that in 02 03. Not really in 04 05.

02 03 if you remember they came from behind on big leads against New Jersey and Dallas to win clutch games.

    BIG leads.

    Duncan looked like Duncan.

Ginobili finally pulled his head out of his butt.

Bonner is still bringing that Malik like intensity but is knocking down threes.

This team is starting to shape up better, even though its in a bit of a funk.

    BTW,

Brent Barry, what in tarnation is wrong with you again.
