Dallas went small, so Phil tried to match with a smaller lineup and without Kobe. Dallas grabs the lead.

Not if we keep giving up all those offensive boards.

14 ORB. The close score doesn't how little a chance the Lakers have.

Bynum and Cook have lots of lenght but will never be any good if they don't learn some hustle and intensity. They play like it's a summer pickup game, mosying up and down the court.

Dallas went small, so Phil tried to match with a smaller lineup and without Kobe. Dallas grabs the lead.

I don't think there's any team in the league that can counter that move by AJ. It worked for them in the Houston game as well.

Is it just me or does this Mavs team remind you of the 2005 Spurs team?

    1) Dirk playing like Duncan: virtually unguardable.

    2) Howard playing like Ginobili: this was when Ginobili took that extra step and became an ALL-STAR level player. Howard, similiar to Ginobili is the Mavs sparkplug and energizer. He does all the little things on the floor.

    3) Terry playing like Parker: Getting his shots in, but letting the other two get there's during crunch time. He's not exactly a "pure PG" like Parker.

    4) Harris playing like Bowen: This may be the only stretcher, but Harris is considered the Mavs "Defensive stopper" in a way. He's always taking the charge, defending the opposing players best guard, etc.

    5) Diop playing like Nazr: Remember when we first got Nazr in 05? Dude was playing great. Blocking shots, grabbing offensive rebounds, getting to the line occassionally. Diop plays the better defense, but he still has the Nazr affect in the middle.

    6) Devean George playing like Brent Barry: Coming in shooting the three pointers, playing smart basketball, etc.

Only question remains: Who's going to be their Robert Horry?

Harris plays more like Parker. we dont have a Bowen but we have long athletic defenders.

Nobody can really stop Howard, but we can throw Kobe and Evans at him to slow him down. The Lakers have a deep team and can match up with many different teams many different ways.

    ^Probably.

I wonder how this game would have gone if it was the other way around and the Lakers played the Mavs in the first part of the back to back and the Spurs the second night.

LOL @ the Lakers fans here that think the Lakers can hang with the Mavs when they're healthy.

The Lakers are one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA....and by the way, nice road record.
