The Orlando stat-keepers are crooked? Wow, that's new.
Note: Scott Skiles holds the NBA record for assists in a game with 33. In reality that night, he had maybe 18 or 19. But late in the game, the Orlando stat-keeper started counting by 3 every time Skiles got an assist.
Over the course of a season, it all evens out, I guess, but the accuracy is crap, and there are some stat-keepers who play fast and loose with the integrity of the game.

i know this isnt basketball but i remember a couple of years ago, SportsCenter showed a highlight of a Orioles game, and some shortstop had a record of like 90 straight games without an error. well in the game, somebody hit one hard at him and it richocheted off his glove into the outfield for an error.
after the game was over the home stat keeper or whatever changed the official scoring to a hit to keep the streak alive
Mavs fans they won. Who cares if the scorekeeper gave Dirk one less assist!
