People keep saying how this game won't matter, but here's what will happen:

    1. If the Spurs win, people will say it doesn't matter.
    2. If the Mavericks win, people will say that it proves the Mavs are the greatest team in NBA history, and that the Spurs have passed the torch.

This game, whether the starters play or not, DOES matter.

Spurs have to tie the season series at 2-2 with Dallas and Utah, go 2-1 vs Phoenix, and they've already tied it at 2-2 for Houston on the season.

Regardless of who's missing or whatnot. My prediction is that the starters will play. Dallas had Dirk on the floor last night when Dallas had a 31 point lead: They are really out to prove something.

yeah this game does matter and I don't see AJ playing his subs. he is a proud little general.

Mavs just better keep praying for us to win or for Utah to lose.

If the Jazz get the 3 seed then y'all are gonna have to deal with SA and Phx to get back to the Show. Otherwise just one of us.
I really couldn't care less, because the Spurs are the only other true contender. I have no doubts that the Mavericks will mangle the Suns in 4 or 5 games. I fear Utah alot more than I fear Phoenix...and I'm not too frightened over the Jazz. The Spurs are a whole other story.

They should take the top 4 teams from each conference, seed them 1 through 8 based on records, and have 1 playoff bracket like that. Yeah it would be a shorter playoffs, and less money for the league...but we wouldn't have a pointless NBA series like a WCF with Phoenix in it.

    1. Dallas
    2. Phoenix
    3. SA
    4. Utah
    5. Detroit
    6. Cleveland
    7. Washington
    8. Toronto

But then again, 5th through 8th in the West = 1st through 4th in the East.

I'm sure Avery will not risk losing before his bandwagonning, classless, cretinous trolls @home, so I'm pretty damn sure he'll play all his startres to win, and run up the score, too, even it Pop plays to lose. Runts like Avery often have Napoleanic chips on their feeble shoulders.

I think this idea of not playing healthy starters out of fear of injury stinks. Rest a marginally hurt player to get him ready for the playoffs, yes.

But over-protected health in season can disappear on the first possession of the playoffs.

What's this nonsense about *passing the torch* and having to beat the Spurs before the media gives them the ridiculous label of "greatest team in NBA history?" Seriously, how many times have the Mavericks beaten the Spurs in the last two seasons? This win would be nothing new, even if you'd like to believe that it would be. As for the greatest team in NBA history, stop being such a drama queen.

So, now about Dirk. AJ took him out with about 1-2 min. left in the third quarter and he sat from that point UNTIL THE END OF THE GAME, THE ENTIRE FOURTH QUARTER. Dang, this is like the 4-5th time a different Spurs fan has noted Dirk's minutes in last night's game ( < 30) ...check out the boxscore sometime.

Oh wait, it's just the same idiot posting the same idiocy about Dirk's minutes, my bad other Spurs fans. What was that b.s. last night about how the 30 point lead would be lost when Dirk sits?

You didn't comprehend what I said, but most Dallas homer morons can't.

I said the game is important, because every time Dallas wins, it gets exaggerated and we have people comparing them to Jordan's Bulls now. That is a laugh. No one outside Dallas sees Dallas as a le contender.

AJ won't even let dirk try for a triple double when he's soooo close, he yanks him from the game...he could give two hoots about *trying for 70*
