[QUOTE=picnroll]Wrong. Manu hasn't been flopping on D for quite some time. Pop told him it was hurting more tha helping, not getting the call and letting the man by him. Pay attention if you want to play.

I like the Bowen and Battier picks but I wonder why Ruben Patterson isn't at least an honorable mention. He can still lock people up when he wants to do so. In Milwaukee, Ruben really got up into Manu and messed his rhythm up...and for 3 or 4 games afterward.

He's a crazy cat but on the court, he's one of my favorite defenders. He's got similar qualities to Mario Elie except he's more relentless as a rebounder and stronger at taking his man down low on offense. He's still got some seasons left in him, too, at 31 years of age.

It was mentioned on a Spurs telecast by one of the Spurs' announcers.

Incidentally, it's become common of late to say the Nuggets are a terrible defensive team, but they're not -- they just play at a fast pace so they give up a lot of points.

    Isnt tha the same thing?

I think Duncan should win Defensive Player of the Year. He's the anchor of the best defensive team in the League.

But the off-court part always bothered me, especially for players who missed time due to injury. If one compares on-court vs. off-court in any given game, that's at least an apples-to-apples comparison with a fairly steady control group (the teammates and opponents). But all that goes out the window in games a player misses -- not only are all the opponents different, but thanks to injuries, suspensions, trades and the like, often the teammates are as well. So instead of apples-to-apples, you often get apples-to-oranges. Sometimes it's not even that close -- more like apples-to-orangutans.
Funny how Hollinger still hasn't introduced Adjusted +/-.

Devin Harris is challenging the le as best defensive flopper in the league. The top four in no particular order are Harris, Derek Fisher, Raja Bell and Shane Battier. Of power forwards and centers, Reggie Evans tops the list as best flopper.
That is extremely funny coming from a fan of a team with Manu Ginobili, who is the worst flopper in the NBA. Manu even flops on offense. Manu flops so superfluously that he has injured people with his flailing limbs.

When you add notorious floppers Bowen and Horry to the group, you have quite a team of floppers.

"Worst flopper"? If timvp says Devin Harris is one of the best and you say Manu is the worst...I don't see where the argument is.

    No, I don't mean that.

Its just when you post a critique of one darn maverick, about 5000 of them come in "Screw you spurs fan, who are you to say that on a Spurs board blah blah blah"

    Just has gotten annoying.

Can hardly post anything negative about them anymore with out the Cuban corn suckers brigade coming to their defense.

Saying that Manu is a flopper isn't ruining the forum. I agree, Manu is a flopper.

Constantly complaining about the fans from other teams is annoying the out of me. I'm moderating the forum how I see fit.

If people don't like it here, they can click the red X and post elsewhere. I'm tired of the frickin nagging.

Y'Know, there IS a forum out there that is heavily moderated, and allows little leeway for other team's fans. I might be mistaken, but I though you ran from it like a fire 4 years ago.

Battier would have been a good pickup and eventual replacement for Bowen. Solid player overall.

Did you see what Houston had to give up for him? Battier is a nice 3rd or 4th banana, but Rudy Gay is going to be a STAR.

Why would SpursTalk hate Hollinger's stats - they've ranked the Spurs number one ahead of the Mavs pretty much all season

He's up there with all the other point guards in the league. He's arguably not the best, but calling him a joke is ridiculous. He at least deserves some consideration, even if he is a flopper.
