Hard to say
I still say Mavs take it
On the other hand, we haven't seen the real Warriors all season long because of all the injuries, and they may be better than an 8th seeded team
I agree with the zone part. As of far Baron and Monte have been just dribble penetrating at will. If the Mavs play some Don Nelson zone they will have to force GS to shoot from the outside. Everybody on GS is a streaky shooter, their shots will not fall levery game like they did tonight.

^This is true.
Love ur sig
Question, WTF are there so many Mav threads in the Spurs forum?
They won 67 games. Only two 8th seeds have taken down a 1 seed and that was with the 5 game series. Mavs are a strong ball club and resilient.
Mavs are damn good and if the Warriors are going to beat them, they've got to up the ante even more and I just don't think that will happen.
Thing to remember is their only 1 game down - not 2 or 3.
If Dallas is going to win, it'll HAVE to be in 7. I cannot see them winning two games on GS's floor. They didn't even compete tonight.
Because they lost tonight![]()
One thing for sure though is that they're in a dog fight. To many mismatches in GS's favor, but they'll get it done.
Cuban wasn't focused tonight. The and ass in San Fran distracted him.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I guess.
I only watched game 1, but from that and the boxscore today, the Dallas backcourt is simply being way outplayed by Davis, Richardson and Ellis (although he was poor in game 1). Now that may be because the interior is soft as , but it may also be that Terry's being exposed. Also, Stackhouse, who was in running for 6th man of the year, has been below par.
All I know is that I'm loving it! Here's to GS!
I am a little worried that we might be having this conversation tomorrow night as well, but I think we'll win game 4, 5 and 6 so I'm not too concerned with whatever happens in game 3.![]()
If this team cannot take out or even tame an eighth seeded team, then they do not deserve to be champions. It not always about just more talent, but perserverence, focus, and aggression. The Mavs do not have either right now. They seem to be sleepwalking thinking they will win because they are the #1 seed and that's the way it goes. They need to wake up.
Also, I think the Warriors are more like a 4th or 5th seed team also. They are way too talented to squeak into the playoffs. Just goes to show you the regular season means nothing, and the teams that are the hottest going into the playoffs usually win...this is true for all sports.
Basketball is a game of matchups, and Dallas met their worst matchup in the 1st round. Gonna be tough to pull it out after losing this game.
The Spurs have matchup problems with Denver, but not to this extent. The Spurs still have advantages, and when they play the big 3/4 more than 33 minutes a night they should exert more dominance as the series goes on.
It's just the matchups... if Dallas had Denver in the 1st and SA had GS - both Dallas and SA would probably have won in 5, maybe 6 for Dallas.
Wow crazy game tonight...dont know if id put 100 or even 50dollars on the warriors 4 Sunday nights game
You're right on..I was thinking that before both series started. Kevin, is that really you???![]()
from watching these games if Bdiddy and Stephen Jax puts of 20 each along with 15 from JRich then the warriors should be victorious again
it was interesting to hear Bill Walton make a comment to the effect that dallas was one of the slumping teams towards the end of the season while teams like San Antonio and Phoenix were surging. Or to put it another way, dallas shot their wad already. We'll see but none the less, that Karma sure knows when to make her appearances.
How much of a chance do you guys give the warriors for sunday?
I thought dallas was gonna win game 3 for sure to get in the driver's seat, but so much for that
I think the entire series hinges on game 4.
I'm expecting a flagrant foul from Stack or Terry on Davis in the 1st quarter...just a feeling
I think you're dead on. They wrapped up the #1 seed and stopped playing all their starters for the fear of injuries. When that happens, you lose you're sense of finishing games, the winning mentality is lost, and games don't seem as meaningful. Ask the Indianapolis Colts before they finally did it this year.
One thing's for certain: Eddie F. Rush will call game 4 of GS-Dallas.
