Man let us enjoy this moment dude.![]()
I know everybody is pretty excited about GS winning big, but the reality of the situation is Dallas is only down 2-1.
They win next game, and it's down to a best of three.
GS has done what they've needed to do so far, but I don't think they can keep up this pace.
Mavs didn't get to the finals by accident last year and their not going to let a crazy 8th seed just steal what they believe to be their championship year.
It may take 7 games, but Mavs will hold down the fort.
Man let us enjoy this moment dude.![]()
Wait, isn't that exactly how they got into the finals (WCF)... an accident?![]()
At some point those lucky ass shots will stop falling.
GS state has had their number ALL season. This isn't some fluke series where GS has a few good moments.
GS has a legit chance at actually winning. They have players that Dallas just can't guard.
, this series could be 3-0 if GS didn't lose control of themselves down the stretch in game 2.
The Manu thing was an accident, yes. We screwed up badly in that second half and would have deserved to lose at the end of regulation. OT, however, was a different story. We earned our right to get to the WCF with our performance there.
Yeah, when a team that has real defense plays againsts them.
out of the three games, game looked much more like the outlier than games 1 or 2. i don't see any reason for mavs fans to feel optimistic.
There were a lot of crazy shots that I would have never expected to fall. That just shows you how motivated the Warriors were. The Mavs didn't show up this game.
Agreed. The Mavs haven't proved anything more than the Warriors have, the Warriors are actually playing great in the post season while the Mavs have so far, and have a history of choking. The Warriors ARE NOT A FLUKE. THEY HAVE THE MAVS' NUMBER.
Golden State can still very well collapse, but after Sunday, I think that the finals pressure that went onto the Mavs will only show up more and affect them. Think Miami were really champs?![]()
It's simple. 1 win and the Warriors momentum is crushed and the Mavs have their feet under them.
Besides stopping Baron Davis, the Mavs need Dirk to step into the spotlight.
He was quiet as a church mouse.
Wow. This series is starting to look a lot like Pistons-Lakers from 2004. Dallas' players had that same look in their eyes, wondering what the to do that the Lakers had in game 3 in Auburn Hills. Dallas better start playing a lot of zone, because they are not going to stop Baron Davis' and Monta Ellis' penetration any other way.
I don't know that they're lucky ass shots -- the Warriors did a great job tonight of getting into the lane and making things happen when they got there. The Mavs couldn't do much with Baron's penetration and he finished just about everything at the rack when he got there. I also thought the Warriors pushed the tempo as they must to have a chance in this series and did a good job of moving the ball on the perimeter and with some skip passes across the set to get themselves good looks from deep. They only made 6 threes all night, so the result had a lot to do with their effectiveness in making things happen inside.
I also think that the Warriors did a fantastic job tonight of getting back in transition to challenge shots and make everything difficult for the Mavs. The Mavs didn't get very many uncontested shots; even on put-back opportunities following offensive boards, the Warriors had someone there to challenge the shot. I would have never guessed that the Warriors would be able to play defense that would make the difference in a playoff game, but they did tonight, at least in stretches.
Still, I agree with the point of the thread. I think the Mavs will win the series.
Unfortunately, I agree.
Hope we are wrong though.
This is truly a sickening feeling. You'd think that Avery could get his guys to play better defense than that crap, having San Antonio blood in him. Very hard to watch tonight for Mavs fans. It looked like the Red Sea parting everytime Baron Davis had the ball. Way to go MAVS![]()
What's up with the 100 mph energy bursts sustained for 48 minutes by the Warriors? They look like the Suns on steroids![]()
At least Phoenix seems to miss shots and wear themselves out a little, but this is pathetic. Our defense sux...
Guess it's almost time to start rooting for the Spurs![]()
I totally don't get this.
I really want to ask what makes people think the Mavs will pull it out?
The Warriors have had their number for years, include Nellie, THE coach of that team and realize that Dirk has been nowhere? Does that seem like more than a fluke? Warriors have ALL the tools to stop the Mavericks and have done so like the last 8 out of 9 times! If anything, the Mavericks beating the Warriors was a fluke.
Are the Mavs really known for clutch post-season play?
Dirk actually got a lot of open looks tonight and only hit a few. He is also not going to the hole like he did during the season. Missing free throws...it's the Finals all over again...
yea jus like heat will win the series
i dont see either of those 2 happenin
I really don't care or mind that Dallas getting a good workout, even if they are still no doubt, favored to win, this win doesn't influence that since Sunday is a must-win-will-win for the mavs. An unorthodox GS win on Sunday, may negate this thread, but I actually...Kinndaa don't want that to happen.
I'm just glad Dallas isn't playing Memphis again for that 1st seed earned cakewalk.
Dallas is very soft in the interior. That's their biggest weakness. Dampier and Diop are far from an intimidating force. I think Tony Parker puts more fear in the paint then those guys do. Mavs just let Baron Davis, Ellis, SJax and JRich get to the paint any time they want. And Biedrens got into the action today.
I called Mavs in 6...but GS has already won those two games, and has two home games remaining. It could happen. I'm not betting my house or anything, but it could happen. Two things have surprised me: I didn't expect them to win in Dallas, and I didn't expect them to blow out Dallas bigtime in any game.
Mavs are doing what they forced the Spurs to do last year. Their centers are WORTHLESS in this series.
That's how it feels on the opposing end of a terrible match-up, and the Mavs are feeling what we felt.
GS doesn't have to win in Big D again. Over and done in 6 (at most).
I don't feel optimistic.
I think the worst thing that happened to this Mavs team was the Suns and Spurs losing a bunch of games down the stretch and handing the Mavs the #1 seed by default. Somewhere along the way (mid to late March), the Mavs lost their edge.
This team looks every bit as bad as the team that started the season 0-4.
