Kerr has to give the public persona of being impartial. Maybe that is why he is picking the Suns.

Isn't that the reason Sean Elliott was fired from ESPN?
Dear ignormous, Sean quit ESPN because he did not want the requisite work load and travel.

Safe pick for Kerr. Acknowleging the Spurs are good enough to win 3 games but not so much that his investment and home town aren't good enough.

He would have picked the Suns over the Mavs in 7

    Logic says:

    Tim >Diaw
    Elberto < Amare
    Bowen < Marion
    Finley < Bell
Parker < Nash MVP Nash runs team better and can score big
    Manu = Barbosa

    Experience says:

    Tim > Diaw
    Elberto < Amare
Bowen = Marion based on Bowen's contribution on defense
Finley only slightly < Bell based on Bell's defense
Parker = Nash Parker usually has better games against Nash in comparison
Manu > Barbosa Battle of the 6th men with edge to Manu in 'heart' 'will to win' and experience in big games.

A lot of the media is picking the Suns in 7....and it's not so "irrationale." Yes, the Suns still don't play defense...but it is greatly improved compared to 2 years ago. They also have a solid team from players 1-7 and they match up very well with the Spurs. Nash is also having probably his best season out of all the years he's actually won the MVP because I think this year he's becoming more of the "closer" that he needs to be in close games.

I'd say Spurs have a 50-50 chance of winning this series.

    Questions to this series:

Can Finley continue playing his great defense, while maintaining his great shooting touch? Can Barry do what he does best but in the clutch? Will Horry be able to keep up with the Suns if the Spurs slow down the pace and hit shots and defend the paint? Will Ginobili be able to get out of his mini-funk while being guarded by an all defensive 1st teamer? Will Parker be able to counter 2 time MVP Steve Nash? Will Duncan be able to match Amare's energy and play in the paint? Can the Spurs stop Barbosa?
