Offensively in the 2005 playoffs, Manu played at a level that few guards in the history of the NBA ever played at.

Manu has played a really good last five halves of basketball. If he can keep it up, he still has time for a second legendary playoff run.

he could be greater 2007 then 2005
right now I do not think so
aarron thinks he averaged around 30 points a game in 2005
he is not in 2007 so far

I think some of you don't get it. My fault.

I mean that the best thing for Manu is NOT playing like he did in 2005. No, i'm not on drugs, not the heavy ones at least. The old Manu hasn't come back, is a new Manu what we needed, and what he seems to be, according to the last five games.

He has change his style in order to rely more on his jumper, and to penetrate in a safer way. The last thing we want is Manu to get injured. And playing insanely like he did in the 2005 is just too dangerous for him, and the whole spurs team and fans.

If he manages to keep his numbers up, with his new style, he would be only greater than before to my eyes. So, that's why, IMO, 2007 Manu > 2005 Manu. The same numbers, not so flashy, but way more reliable in the long term.

You also have to consider many people wasn't counting on Manu back in 2005 and teams didn't have a real approach on him until later on. Now every team that faces the Spurs have somebody guard him religiously and attempt to break down his game as part of their game plan. Manu on the loose picks you apart to no recover.

I never said he averaged 30, I said his PER was 30. John Hollinger, ever heard of him?

    No, I'm not on drugs.

I remembered pretty well all the sick lay ups, dunks and the reckless at ude. I have every 2005 Manu's videos I could get. But those methaphores we used to describe Manu as "insane", "maniac", "sick", "crazy", became literal when he got injured several times in 2006.

Manu has struggled to change his style and to keep on being one of the three main point contributors of the team, at the same time. He HAS TO keep himself safe in order to achieve another championship, and even most important: to be able to keep on playing for many more years.

So yes, 2007 Manu >> 2005 Manu. It won't be shawn on the highlights reel, not even in the stats sheet. But, hopefully, it would be proved in rings and many more seasons to come.

So, let's get another ring, so I won't look like a fool in the following weeks.
Actually,it does show in the stats sheet. He is getting more rebounds asists ans steals tham the 2005 playoffs.

In the '05 playoffs, if you add up his BARPS (blocks, assists, rebounds, points, steals) Manu's total comes out to 32.3.

This year it's 28.9. The difference is pretty much just the points, 20.3 in '05 to 16.4 this year.

Plus he shot 50% from the field and over 40% in threes that year

It's ducks you're talking to, remember?

You need to be more patient.
