I really like when things are shown on highlight reels.
and I love living in the age of Manu. thats some sick BBall right there.![]()
No, I'm not on drugs.
I remembered pretty well all the sick lay ups, dunks and the reckless at ude. I have every 2005 Manu's videos I could get. But those methaphores we used to describe Manu as "insane", "maniac", "sick", "crazy", became literal when he got injured several times in 2006.
Manu has struggled to change his style and to keep on being one of the three main point contributors of the team, at the same time. He HAS TO keep himself safe in order to achieve another championship, and even most important: to be able to keep on playing for many more years.
So yes, 2007 Manu >> 2005 Manu. It won't be shawn on the highlights reel, not even in the stats sheet. But, hopefully, it would be proved in rings and many more seasons to come.
So, let's get another ring, so I won't look like a fool in the following weeks.

Ehh. I still think you're on crack.
Sorry but Manu in 05 was way better, maybe not smarter, but he played without fear...that's what made him so good. I suppose the injuries in 2006 caused to be a bit more cautious when taking it to the hoop...but that should've made him perfect his jumpshot. Instead we had him clanging the mid range ones early in the playoffs, he couldn't make a bucket even if his life depended on it. Whether he was just in a slump or whatever that shouldn't happen if you're not going to go to the hoop you need to be great at whatever else you're going to try.
I'm one of his biggest fans, but I have to say 05>07.
Well, at least the 2007 Manu of the past 3 games. I don't know about the one from the rest of these playoffs.
get with me after the finals
if he is he should really thank marion for that elbow in the eye
I won't say you are on crack without further info, but about Manu he looks like impressive as he was in 2005, besides that he's mora mature and the corporate knowledge that the team has about him is superior.
Manu's inconsistency (in term of scoring) is somethig that makes me crazy, but at the end (like POP says) Manu make a lot of things on the court, that's why he's Manu.
I loved the was he played in 2005. The guy could simply take over games and change the outcome within 10 minutes or so. It was amazing to watch. The way he closed out Detroit in 2005, game 7 was so much fun to watch.
I think in 2007 that he is slowly but surely coming back to form. Manu is one of the great talents of the last few years...so it is exciting to watch him find his game again.
ESPN should really just bill the Spurs as Manu and Tony's team because they are "Exciting"... they just also happen to play with the best player of his generation...
I have to admit I miss how at Tip-Off Manu gets the ball right away and rushes to the basket and scores right away
I was thinking this at one stage during the game last night. Glad i'm not the only one who feels this way.
Yes, he's not as consistent as before, but on his best day he's better than he was in 2005.
Same opinion here.
However, if he keeps playing like he has in the last 3 games, then I will change my mind.
But he had played overall better in the 05 playoffs up to this point than he has so far up to this point in the 07 playoffs, imo, as I remember it.
We'll see.
Regular Season 2007 Manu > 2005 Manu
Playoffs 2005 Manu > 2007 Manu
I don't think he'll ever top the '05 postseason. He had like a 30 PER in those playoffs. He was playing out of his mind.

The 05 Manu had much more hair.
where is that at?
That's Jordan's statue with a photoshopped Manu head. It's spelled "Emmanuel" by the way.
I think it's a niece piece of photoshop work. But someday...
I hope he doesn't fall in love with the 3 point shot. It seems like he has more attempts this year than years past.
It's sweet when he makes it, but I think it takes away some of his aggressiveness towards the bucket.
As long as he cuts down on the TO's (i.e., those two dumb turnovers towards TP during the 4th quarter of the Phoenix series), he's all good.
Excuse me???...that is ABSOLUTELY wrong!!!
Sorry, his website has it listed as "Emanuel" but everywhere else I've seen it, it's been with two "m"s. My bad.
Emmanuel?? Isn't that the woman from the 70's soft core movies?
If Manu, TP, and TD keep up their level of performances it takes all of the pressure off of guys like Finley, Oberto, and Horry and makes it almost impossible to beat the Spurs. I like the way they're playing.
I should ask my right hand![]()
manu shows up 3 games on shotting out of 6 games against suns
