Okay, so I'm going to stay home and watch game 1 here and then drive to Melbourne afterwards. The games I'll be in Melb for will be on at:

gm 2 - 11am Monday
gm 3 - 11am Wednesday

I'll check out some prospective places to watch them and post back here on the weekend. Note that Monday is the Queen's Birthday, so we should have a GTG for that one. Are there any sportsbars where we could get a booth with our own TV? I'd rather do that than sit in a dodgy pokie joint with a bunch of old alkies, if it can be avoided.

I take it no-one around here has Foxtel?

No FoxTel here.. but you can watch using internet sopcast... the telecast is a bit dodgy.

Anyway.. Monday should be fine.. Just pick the time and place

I've got myself a pretty good spot for the finals, a mate just got Foxtel IQ so we will probably start watching the game 30mins after it actually starts, that way we can fast forward those horrible ESPN ads... should be good

the crown place, in the main gambling area where the big 3 screens are.....low volume, and you probably expect to see alot of fellas there to catch the game, its always pack during ASG....and cricket tourneys...

about the TAB joints, screens are not inside the gambline area, they have a another section for diners and AA

Sat I'll check out a venue for Monday, then Cattaneo, Sunday my uncle's 70th on the tram resteraunt, Monday more NBA... and in between all that i have family and friends to see! Gonna be busy! I remember watching the Spurs Vs Nets finals at All Star Cafe in Crown... it was packed with Nets bandwagoners... I saw no more than 10 Spurs fans... too bad that venue is gone now...

They always replay the game.. One in the morning and one in the evening.

If the evening slots are packed, they will replay in the weekends..

you cant reserve seats in that area....first come first serve, you can always go 2nd lvl where theres more chaires, but expect alot of old farts and losers sobering next to you.....or you can always try the sports bar on the second lvl next to village cinemas...expensive though for food and ...

oh yeh forgot to tell you guys...if you are crown member , teh food are cheap on 2nd lvl in the gaming area in front of the big screens, chicken and chips 2-3bucks only during weekdays...weekends more expensive....

Are you from Perth? I was there in 95 while serving in the Navy and had a great time. We docked in Fremantle and took a train to Perth. Later during the deployment we swung around to Sydney. One of the things that really stuck with me was going to Hungry Jacks. It was a replica of Burger King just had the different name. Anyway just wanted to know if you were from there.
