So in other words, you want your prospective employees to lie to you. Sorry to agree with the 12-year-old,but there's some kind of gatorade drinking going on here.
People don't want to hear what the new guy can GET by joining the team.
People want to hear what the new guy can DO for the team.

Spurs Welcome Lindsey To Front Office

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Spurs announced today that they have named Dennis Lindsey vice president/assistant general manager.
Lindsey has spent the past 11 seasons with the Houston Rockets, the last five as vice president of basketball operations/player personnel. Prior to being named vice president, Lindsey spent three seasons as director of player personnel. During the 1998-99 season, he served as the Rockets director of player development. Lindsey joined the Rockets in 1996 as personnel video coordinator/scout.

“I am thrilled to have Dennis Lindsey joining our program,” said Spurs General Manger RC Buford. “I have the greatest respect for the Rockets franchise and am impressed with all that he accomplished as a member of their organization. Dennis brings a wealth of knowledge to our staff and we are all very excited about his future with the Spurs.”

Prior to joining the Rockets, Lindsey was the assistant basketball coach and recruiting coordinator at Pensacola Junior College for two years. Before venturing to Pensacola, Lindsey was the assistant head coach at Fort Worth Southwest High School.

A starter at Baylor University, Lindsey helped the Bears advance to the NCAA Tournament in 1988 and the NIT Tournament in 1990. After graduating from Baylor with a bachelor's degree in education in 1992, Lindsey received his master's in sports management in 1994 from the United States Sports Academy.

EXACTLY. I'm sorry it's lost on you two. Call it professional courtesy, call it toeing the party line, whatever you want, but you don't show up the day you got hired and say "this is a great company, it's going to look freakin' great on my resume when I leave in a couple of years."

    That's lame.

I'm sure once medstudent gets finished with school, begins a residency and then ultimately begins work in a medical practice somewhere...he will want to let his patients know how much experience they are going to give him as he receives practical O.J.T..

Precisely. So it's rather obvious that being assistant GM for the Spurs doesn't offer much in the way of internal advancement here in the near term.

    Go punch one out, ahf.

I'm sure he does, seeing how the Spurs always go after the scrubs that the Rockets waive. Melvin Sanders, Alex Scales, Dion Glover and Mike Wilks were all signed by the Spurs after being waived by the Rockets

Then there's the guys who have been on summer league teams for both the Spurs and the Rockets such as Stephen Graham, Andre Barrett, Brooks Sales and Andre Brown.

The Rockets drafted Bryce Drew and Michael erson ... both of whom where highly coveted by the Spurs.

To top it off, the the Spurs and Rockets also shared in mistakes regarding Charlie Ward and Derek Anderson.

Lindsey and Buford have some of the same tastes in players. Although looking at the above players, I'm not sure if that's a good thing.

With a name like Dennis, how could he be bad for the Spurs?

And with a name like Lindsey, this could officially signal the end for Beno.

Malone wore several different jersey numbers in his career, among them #2 with the Sixers, Hawks, and Spurs....

And his last shot was like a 60-footer that went in, no?

I had a similar thought about the resemblance but not as funny.
