oberto cutting into the 08 master plan.
probably not. seeing as how quickly this deal was done, he was probably signed for a very reasonable rate that won't cut much into the '08 cap room. if he was asking for 4-5 million per, this likely would have taken more than a day and a half to get done.

    11th.

All of these stories coming out are about tentative agreements. Granted, things can change in a week, but the agreements are made in principle.

nevertheless, 5 players signed won't hurt much
Well, with the new TV/media contracts raising the bux by 20%, look for a nice li'l bump in both the cap and the tax next summer. Also, the Spurs seem to rarely guarantee ALL years of contracts for role players. The last year is usually either partial, or not at all.

    Vaughn remains a Spur

    Express-News

The Spurs have reached agreement with Jacque Vaughn on a two-year contract that will pay him about $2.5 million, an NBA source said Monday.

Vaughn's agreement, which pays him the minimum salary for players with at least 10 seasons of experience, means the Spurs have commitments from two of their free agents. Fabricio Oberto plans to sign a three-year deal once the league's free-agent moratorium ends on July 11.

The Spurs also are continuing negotiations with forward Matt Bonner.

Vaughn, 32, joined the Spurs last season and became the team's most dependable reserve point guard since Speedy Claxton left after the 2003 championship.

Though Vaughn began the season alternating games on the inactive list with Eric Williams, he eventually replaced Beno Udrih as Tony Parker's backup.

In 64 games, Vaughn averaged 3.0 points, 2.0 assists and 11.9 minutes.

I suppose the last roster spot will go to Williams.

You do realize that your GM is said to be pursuing Beno Udrih, right? Thats a bit of the pot calling the kettle black I'd say.

Google translation from the local newspaper in Cordoba, Fabs' hometown.

    report

To a passage in the agreement

The agent of Fabricio Oberto announced that they are near deciding the new bond with San Antonio Spurs. “We are going to obtain the contract and probably it is this week”, said. He would be by three years.

Fabricio Oberto has well in clear where it wants to continue playing in NBA. It left his contract with San Antonio Spurs to follow in the champion with Manu Ginóbili. And the Spurs wants it and they have it in its plans to defend the le in the coming campaign.

The agent of Oberto, Herb Rudoy said in the local newspaper, San Antonio Express News who the agreement is closely together, considering that from the first day of the month could begin the negotiations. “Fab left in clear that it does not wish to play in another place that is not in the Spurs, and all they know that” declared the representative of the Cordovan. “We are going to obtain the contract and probably it is this same week”, added Rudoy.

Oberto, when leaving the contract declared free agent and the players, in this condition, can reach verbal agreements with the equipment, but they cannot sign contracts until the 11 of the current. The Cordovan had a year more of bond in exchange for 2.5 million dollars, but free agent with the only intention declared itself to obtain more years of contracts in the Spurs, in addition to a greater bond in the economic aspect. The pivot told the MORNING that waits for company/signature by “three years more” in San Antonio.

Oberto gained a place in the Spurs, and say, in San Antonio, became popular between its teammates, in addition to being friend of Manu Ginóbili. It has great relation with Brent Barry (they touch together the guitar) , in addition to Tony Parker and the star of the equipment, Tim Duncan. Also, the technician Gregg Popovich emphasized the virtues, inside and outside the field of the pivot of the Rods.

Sunday, the newspaper Memphis Commercial Appeal, published the interest of Memphis by Oberto and added that that equipment already had tried its draftee in 2005 when the Cordovan signed in the Spurs.

    Tribute

The Deliberative Council of Cordova will today approve the figure of the Approval to homenajear to Fabricio Oberto, by initiative of the Front for the Victory.

OF THE SOTA IT HAS HIS T-SHIRT OF THE CHAMPION OF NBA

Fabricio Oberto visited the office of Jose Manuel governor of the Sota and was distinguished as Citizen Illustrious of Cordova. The champion of NBA gave to the governor two t-shirts to him of San Antonio Spurs, one with his number 7, but that takes to the name Of the Sota in the back and the other with the name of Oberto. It is not the first t-shirt of Oberto that he has Of the Sota, since the player sent to him of gift one of the Olympiakos of Greece in 1998, when From the Sota he obtained the government of Cordova. While Head of State flattered a clock to him to the pivot of the Rods.

SWEET! This move now assures the Mavs are going back to the Finals. With the Suns imploding and the Spurs keeping their old ass team in tact, the Mavs will be back as the top dog in the West!

Spurs don't have an answer for Dirk nor Howard. We give you match up nightmares. The only difference is it is 2008 rather than 2006. This just made my day! Mavs are back baby!
