I think something managed to get in my rich text editor. maybe a virus or a trojan horse although I have had antivirus running non-stop and I also have checked it with spybot and adaware and they haven't found anything.

Notepad is the only program that with no problems and coincidentally the only one with no RTE. But My office programs and outlook and message boards start to act like they are possessed sometimes. blocks of text just start highlighting themselves and occasionally start moving themselves around the screen, or my cursor just moves on it's own and starts typing somewhere else on the page. One time the words "Barack Obama" just began typing across my screen in the middle of an email to my mom 16 times in a row. It doesn't happen every time I use my computer just (crap it just did it) maybe 20% of the time. I need to call MS but haven't had time yet.

My system came with McAfee but the military provides us with Norton so I switched. then I found out the military doesn't have the Vista upgrade so I ended up having to pay for it. I have Norton Internet Security 2007. So if I'm ed then it's not exactly virgin territory. That's why I also run spybot & adaware.

Will this trojan hunter work with vista?

BTW Norton has awesome customer support so it's too bad their product isn't the best around.

I stay away from the 4 deadly sins.

    VISTA,Norton,McAfee,and Internet Explorer

I am not sure what works with your vista but I am sure you will get a window saying this product is not for Vista.

Get rid of your Dinosaur virus programs which by the way 90% of the best viruses are created from Norton Employees anyway. It's keeps them in business. Good luck trying to get rid of Norton it's like AOL/Herpes it's there until you erase your HD.

If you use AVAST for viruses and trojans which is free and Ewido for spyware

and Registry Mechanic to tune up your PC make sure your not missing any DLL files.

and last but not least CCleaner which is free, you should never have a problem.

So lets go over the list.

    AVAST
    Ewido
    Registry Mechanic
    CCleaner
and you can surf in peace.

Where do you see WinFixer in my link?

    it's Error Killer

I got sick of winfixer attacks, and when I was researching how to get rid of them (NoScript addon for ZFirefox is really effective), I thought "Error Killer" was one of a host of names winfixer and similar programs use, but maybe that was "Error Safe". Winfixer goes by many names. Apologies.

Download "AVG Free" as well to add to those. You can never have enough good diagnostic programs.
