Jason Terry: The Jet is not someone the Mavericks want to trade, but the time is coming for Devin Harris and the Mavericks may need to cash in a piece to regain some depth. Word is the Mavericks have put their hat in the Kevin Garnett race and there is continued talk that Dallas would love to get Pau Gasol if he is genuinely available. If Dallas is going to make a change, and after winning 60 plus games last year they may not need to, Jason Terry looks like the guy they will deal.

Moving Terry would be a mistake, there would go all our outside shooting. Howard isn't consistent enough to be a serious outside threat.

Wouldn't solve many problems. What we really need is low post scoring and perimeter defense, primarily from the guard positions. Unless we moved howard to the 2 and started Wallace or Mason at the 3.

what's wrong with keeping Howard at the 3 and putting Wallace as the 2? although both players can play both positions, those are their primary spots.

Nothing, but I thought Wallace was longer and a better rebounder, which makes him more suited for the SF position.

If we had a dominant inside threat then it would open the outside. Really, how often is damp or diop double teamed in the paint? Someone would HAVE to come off and guard KG leaving someone wide open.

Did SpursDynasty just unwittingly admit that the Spurs are no threat to the Mavericks?
Nope, I'm just saying, you have to beat who's on your schedule. Beating the Spurs in 2006 has done no good for Dallas.

I think Dallas' next offseason move is to fire Donnie Nelson and hire either MrChug or SpursDynasty.

MrChug would sign Nick Van Exel. SpursDynasty would dismantle the team and bring in a bunch of D-Leaguers.

    Mr Chug:

    1) Sign Nick Van Exel
    2)
    3) Championship!

    SpursDynasty:

    1) Buy out Dirk, Josh, Jet, Avery, Dampier, Diop and Devin
    2)
    3) Championship!

I would trade out Howard and Terry for Garnett.

Big Three of Garnett, Stackhouse, and Devin Harris, with Dirk coming off the bench.

in' A Jeff. in' A. Mavs would run the table at 82-0 by reducing Dirk to 20 MPG for situational purposes only.

This would be my ideal situation. Trade Terry and Buckner for Gerald Wallace. Sign Chris Webber and Dee Brown. That leaves us with this...

    PG – Harris, Brown, Barea
    SG – Wallace, Stackhouse, Ager
    SF – Howard, George, Terry
    PF – Nowitzki, Webber, Fazekas
    C – Dampier, Diop, Mbenga

Thats a really solid team IMO and the toughest/best team we would have in a while

Its going to take a little more than 2 players over 30 with long term contracts to pry Wallace away assuming he doesnt stay with the Bobcats. Webber is done. Add to the fact that those moves still wont solve the Mavs low post scoring problems.

They'd definitely be the championship favorites with that team.
