how is it the spurs' fault that scola signed a contract that made a feasible buyout impossible until this year?
So the Spurs traded Scola so Splitter wouldn't be mad at them?![]()

I thought I read somewhere that he had the same buyout the last 2 years that he has this year. Is that wrong?
Scola was available before this year, the Spurs just didn't want him.
It's not a coincidence that he signed a deal with Houston for the exact amount (3/9-10) that his agent said he would take last summer but the Spurs refused to offer.
Of course he's going to pretend he's happy Toronto got his rights in a trade now. They control his rights and chance to get to the NBA now. What is he going to say, "Crap I just got traded to a team known to have a coach who doesn't get along with his players from a team who's coach was voted the coach they'd most like to play for by a majority of players from other teams.
And why is it if it is so widely know by European players that the Spurs are unfair this Greek player was so out of the loop and was delighted to be drafted by the Spurs and crestfallen to be traded to Toronto?

It will be very interesting to see if Splitter can now step up without Scola for Tau
