I agree with TIMVP. White did great in NBA games. I don't think SL is the only way to judge players. Someone has got to be on the way.

I think that Udoka will sign with Spurs soon.

That Most Economic Front Office Trophy is going to look nice next to the four championship trophies.

Even if they do sign Udoka, it will buy them some time. However they still need to find a young developing swing player. Either next year or the year after.

However if they do not sing Udoka, then they're back to square one.

What I was most looking forward to this season was the development of our young talent in Jackie Butler and James White and now they are both gone, continuing one of the tiest Spurs offseasons ever.

I'm sure he will find a home elsewhere very quickly. Best wishes to him.

Why would the Spurs do this a week ahead of the August 1st deadline if they didn't have something else (Udoka) lined up? Then again, not much this offseason has made sense.

It better not be ONLY because of the money because he didn't cost them that much. Someone better be on the way.

Don Newman put the warning out earlier in Ludden's article on 7/11/07 when he said...

"I didn't think he stepped up to the physicality of the summer league," Newman said. "He has to be a better defender. He has to be more hard-nosed on the floor. He can't react to every play. ...

"I think if he's going to make it on this team he has to step it up."

You'd think that if the Spurs were trimming fat off their roster, Beno would have been target number one going into the offseason.

    Guess not.

I still don't think Beno will have the same locker in 2007-08.

He plays a position of need. If there were any chance that the coach wasn't going to squash his spirit at every opportunity it would be a sensible move to keep him. As it is, I agree. They should be trading him for cash or something.

I blame Don Newman partly for White sucking. Newman had the worst rotations I've ever seen. It reminded me of peewee ball when players would sub out every other dead ball.

Pop better never get ejected this season.

Man, I've seen fans obsess over players they like, but get a grip. I only felt that bad when they traded Silas and Gervin and some other stud players.

Cut him now and save $400K or whatever it was. RC can pontificate on how the Spurs were doing him a favor by giving him a chance to latch on with another club.

I don't know. Steve Kerr set a pretty high bar with the two first rounders he traded just to help dispose of a key rotation player.

Kerr did that to save $17 mil.

Did Jacobsen got a guaranteed contract?

How many guarantee contracts Grizzilies have?
