Spurstalk suicide watch!
Sad.
No slam dunk champion on the Spurs next season.
SPURS WAIVE JAMES WHITE
SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs announced today that they have waived guard/forward James White.
White joined the Spurs as a free agent on November 3, 2006. He appeared in six games, averaging 8.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 22.8 minutes per game. The former University of Cincinnati Bearcat made his NBA debut on March 26 at Golden State where he finished with nine points and three rebounds in 15 minutes.
White spent part of the season with Austin Toros of the NBA Development League where he saw action in 15 games, averaging 16.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists.
There's goes all of our hope for a Slam Dunk Champion.
I am sad, but they did it for obvious reasons.
$100,000 of them.
One more time.
I know White sucked in summer league but I thought White played really well in real NBA games. Although it was far from playoff compe ion, White looked about as good as a rookie could look after sitting out the first 75 games of the season.
But yeah, a lot of this is on White for not showing up to summer league ready to play defense. Even so, this is going to be hard to swallow unless someone like Udoka is brought aboard.
Hopefully it's not that the Spurs have decided Marcus Williams > James White.
Melzer played better than James White in the SL, by and large.
WTF? I don't get this. With 1 year under his belt, I thought the organization wanted to develop this guy.
Those who have watched the summer league games, please weigh in on this questions. Did White look totally unproductive during these games? Did Marcus Williams outshine White?
All I know is they better have Udoka signed, sealed and ready to be delivered.
You beat me to it.
So does this mean Marcus Williams made the team?
They need to trade Beno and Barry next to bring in the new guys.
maybe Udoka made a decsion
Hey...the Spurs cut Romaine Sato and survived...they'll survive the loss of James White too.
what the ?
some guys aren't NBA material, simple as that.
His defense was bad and he tried to score in one-on-one situations too much.
No way. Williams was perhaps the worst player on the summer league team.
The Spurs are weird like that sometimes.
