well if we are doing it for just one song, I would say Freddie Mercury for "Somebody to Love"
Good one.

i agree
I'm listening to a live version on YouTube right now and it sounds great. He has a ing amazing voice.
I love Aaron Lewis' voice, but it's too one dimensional to be considered one of the best. There's not much he can do with his voice, or at least he doesn't try to.
Jenny Lewis has an amazing voice.
I'll put down Richard Ashcroft.
Gavin Hayes from Dredg
Thom Yorke
Darryl Polumbo from Glassjaw
Geddy Lee or Robert Plant for sure.
When did we stop doing "present day rock" vocalists?
Elvis Presley
I'd go with Thom's vocals in Morning Bell or Sulk over Creep, but thats just me
Maynard - Tool
Chris Cornell - Soundgarden
Bruce inson - Iron Maiden
Rob Halford - Judas Priest
Kim Bendix Petersen - King Diamond
...just to name a few.
hes one of the greatest voices of all time, not just rock n roll.
God killed Elvis because he was jealous of his voice.
Every now and then, I somehow manage to convince myself that Elvis' legend has continued to grow mostly because of the cheesy/kitsch value of his later years. After all, I've been to Graceland twice -- its fun, its campy, its tacky, and has very little to do with Elvis' talent.
Then I put on the "Sun Sessions" CD and am reminded of how great he really was. Dude was ing amazing.
Elvis died because Little Richard hates him, and justly so.
Does Amy Lee count? I like her a lot.
It depends on what songs you're listening to. Go listen to "Can't Believe" and you'll see that he screams the whole song, or "Pressure" and he sings heavy the whole song. I think he has an amazing voice because he can scream, sing heavy, sing mellow, and sing high. Not many musicians I've ever heard can do that.
Geoff Tate is good too.
But for the best vocals all-time, it's gotta be Freddie Mercury.
