Just goes to show that money and fame can't buy love.

I personally like this guy, he's made me laugh and I think he's one of the best comedic actors of this generation. I hope the guy starts laughing again....he deserves it for all the laugh's he's given out The money and fame is a poor subs ute for genuine laughter and feeling good.

I wouldn't assume this guy is just trying to get some attention...he's probably legitimately miserable.

I think it's hard to do because it hurts. he probably wanted to die so as NOT to hurt!! I hope he gets better.
    That's why he should've pulled a Cobain.

I had a chance to work with him, and he's actually one of the most introverted people I've ever met. He turns it on for the cameras, and when they're not running, he barely talks to anybody. He just looks depressed, which obviously, he is.
    He turns it on well.

I guess that makes him a good actor.

My cousin produced "Meet The Parents" but I never heard anything about how he was off camera.

it's hard to feel sorry for a rich celebrity who is feeling all emo. people got real problems.
That is incredibly stupid to say. Depression is not a "real" problem? Depression knows no social status and doesn't care about the balance in your bank account. It is completely indiscriminate in who it hits and is a very serious condition. If it ever hits you, I hope people are much more compassionate than you are being now.

What she said. I know all too well how depression can destroy people. It is not to be taken lightly.

But speaking of cringing, have you ever seen "The Minus Man"? He is so totally creepy in that film, I actually started to like him better!!
Yes. Very good little movie. His character reminded me of a less masochistic Ted Bundy.

Celebrity is a thing I would never want. You have no clue how ty it is to never have a private moment and to have all of these crazy ass people you never met coming up to you all of the time never leaving you alone and pissing you off. Not to mention the damn photographers. I feel sorry for them - money can buy you a house and a car, but it won't buy you peace.
Well that is the risk anyone is taking when going into show business I don't care if you are a singer, actor, model, or even an athlete when you are in the public eye you have to expect constant over the top attention whether it is from fans or psychos I would assume every known celeb in Hollywood has chose the pros over the cons otherwise they would and should not be showbiz

I guess I liked Owen Wilson I mean he wasn't really funny at least to me but he was in funny movies I kinda lost interest in him personally when he started fooling around with Kate Hudson correct me if I am wrong but didn't she commit adultery with him?

but honestly if your going to kill yourself you don't fail unless you want people to find out so you can get attention.
Hate this at ude, for the record.

Just because something may be a "cry for help" doesn't make it any less scary for his loved ones. Also, there's no telling whether or not he'd have been successful in his attempt had the paramedics not intervened.

whatever. ride your high horse all you want. i just think it's funny that i'm supposed to give a that some millionaire hollywood playboy is taking a fall. boo ing hoo. maybe i'm not being compassionate but this happens all the time. okay, depression is a serious issue. it hits everyone. i guess i just tend to feel less sorry for the guy who gets it when his problems are how he's going to spend his millions or what his latest role is gonna be. i think i'd trade my problems for his 8 days a week.

Impossible to say without knowing his problems.

However, to jump into the speculation pool, I'd be willing to guess that there aren't many of us here who are in any way equipped to deal with the problems that someone like Owen Wilson has to face. The level of public scrutiny, not only in terms of reviews and criticisms but personal choices as well, is just insane. I know that I, personally, wouldn't last three weeks with that even if I were a billionaire.

Not necessarily a sure thing. I once had a patient who did the gun in the mouth thing and only blew off his head from nose down; not a pretty way to live the rest of your life. So what if it was a feeble cry for help or attention at that point.

    I would.

And I bet you would to, actually. You seem to be pretty good at not giving a about other's opinions, which is a good thing. I personally wouldn't mind people scrutinizing my life as long as I was that rich...I wouldn't give a about everyone's opinion.

Honestly, I am doing better compared to a couple of weeks ago. I am not bi-polar and I am starting to really regain my faith in everything again. For anything in general, you need to have faith if you want to make it in life. You cant replace it with money, sports, girls, or anything else. Thanks again for asking.

Funny, you have ridden your high horse before about things, but apparently you only have compassion if they are not rich. Very interesting.

    it's my fault.

I was in LA this weekend and killing time in the afternoon finally watched Wedding Crashers from start to finish. Turned off the movie and switched back to a local station and they were just breaking the news that he had slit his wrists.

Tonight I'm gonna watch Top Gun and Mission Impossible 1 & 2 while the juju is working.
