Now I feel even better about the Bonner signing.
So there were no photo ops with Udoka and Ian holding up their jerseys, eh? For shame.
Not that we couldn't see it coming, but this is still a bummer...I always enjoy watching him play!

no....say it ain't so. is he going to formally announce this number change and possible retirement???
I enjoy him playing FOR US.![]()
It'll be nice having both jerseys though. The #5 will be my honoring Horry jersey and the #25 jersey will be my fare thee well jersey.
Well, I think there will be an opening on the Spurs' GM career ladder after this season....
don harris is a tool.
Somebody did a thread earlier where they collated all the jersey numbers for all the players in Spurs history. I'll try to dig that up, but the one search per minute limit makes this painful . . .
they have to be a good player to warrant a press conference.
Actually, it wasn't that bad, once I realized there couldn't be that many threads that mentioned Wiley Peck:

well hopefully the spurs can send him off like they sent david robinson off............ i think horry is washed up on the offensive side of the ball, but he did come through for us on defense in the playoffs......... i won't really miss him cause i'm tired of the spurs being the nursing home of the nba....... and it's time to unleash the red rocket lol
Kerr played with the Spurs through the 2002-03 season...not 2005.
When Horry came to the Spurs for the 2003-04 season, nobody was wearing #25. Horry wore 25 for his 4 years with the Rockets, he wore 25 in PHX after the Barkley trade with Houston, then later that year after the famous towel throwing incident with Horry and his move to the Lakers, he went to #5. He came to the Spurs and chose #5 as he had worn with the Lakers.
Not exactly more in the way of coverage.
I stayed awake for nothing.![]()
Umm.. we'll he verified with the Spurs that it was true. I thought that's what you guys wanted![]()
Next time I just won't ask him to check.
Thanks for asking him to check!
[/suckup]
I did look back to see when Horry signed with the Spurs and it was announced on July 23, 2003. At that time, Steve Kerr was pondering retirement but had not officially decided to retire...having been quoted in June of '03 that he was "90 percent certain he would retire". Kerr officially retired 2 weeks after Horry was signed by the Spurs so technically, I guess one could say Kerr still wore #25 when Horry signed.
It wasn't a slight on you at all. Sorry if it seemed that way.
I thought it was cool that the site has me more informed than the news.
it was very nice you had him check into it to confirm
this place is ahead of the curve
And was also a scout after he got fired by the Nuggets.WTF!!! D'Antoni played for the Spurs?
Damn, guess he really is retiring.
According to that jersey number list, Anthony Carter wore #25.
According to that roster link, Anthony Carter was on the roster when Horry signed.
Also, looks like Tiago isn't going to be wearing it anymore.![]()
anyone else notice Udoka looks like a terrorist
Well looks like it may be the last years of Horry For 3!, though I'll probably still post under this name.
