Ime Udoka #5
Robert Horry #25

Nice find. I wonder if that's true or just Spurs.com making something up. I haven't seen it reported anywhere.
I forgot if there was another number 25 on the roster when the Spurs signed Horry. If there wasn't, I wonder why he didn't take it back then.
It would be pretty damn cool to see Horry go back to his retro number 25.

I'm having someone try to verify with the Spurs that he's actually switching.
That'd be pretty sweet, if it's true. See Rob kick it old school, and all that good stuff.
I find too a little strange that Spurs haven't done a press conference for Udoka and Mahinmi. Udoka has only had a unofficial press conf and nothing at all for Mahinmi.
Are they waiting to sign someone else (likely Williams to do one) or will they do no press conf at all ?
They had a press conference about Mahinmi (though he wasn't present).

Spurs roster from Horrys first year, dont remember if any of those guys wore 25
Thanks.
edit after seing it : It's not a real press conf. It's more an interview. I'm talking of a press conf where the GM and the player is sitting in a press conf room like they did with Splitter this summer.

I guess that a reason why Horry change his number is to go back to his college number to end his career. It's a way to close the loop.
He should have started to think about it after the Udoka signing.
I think it's also 2 + 5 = 7![]()
Looks like I'm gonna have to buy a new jersey.
Lol it always pisses me off when this stuff happens
even the replica's aren't cheap, somethin like $75
Don Harris will have more about this tonight on the 10 o'clock news.
Maybe he'll be 44 next year.
No!!!!!!!!!! If that is true, then that means this is Horry's last year.
It's not even preseason yet and Udoka has already recorded his first steal. I suppose this bodes well for the future?![]()
I've always thought that players don't change their numbers too easily. Supers ion, whatever. I'm curious as to why he'll do it. Even to close it out for his last year it seems drastic.
Maybe they're not as attached to their numbers as I thought.
This is from a summary I did of a Robert Horry appearance I went to at Ingram park mall this past December:
* Robert talked about how he used to wear the # 25 and how when he wears it again, that is how fans will know it is his last year. He said, " I came in wearing # 25 and I want to go out wearing number 25."
* Rob says the rumors about him retiring after this year are untrue. He wants to play three more years- all of them for the Spurs.
Maybe he changed his mind about the three year part.
At one one Horry's Q&A sessions at Ingram Park mall, he mentioned that we'd know it was his last year when he went back to his old number. Guess he really meant it when he said this would be his last year.
oops. Angel beat me to it.![]()
You and I were at the same event.
I am sitting here laughing because when I saw Rob was wearing #25 this year, I teared up.
But then I had to laugh because I never imagined I would be crying at the thought of Robert Horry retiring.
I remember how I couldn't stand him back in the day. How times have changed!![]()
this def is the icing on the cake with the throw back number
Nicely done.
