Why would we say that? Neither team played their A game, and the Cowboys played terribly for the most part. You can safely say that New England is much better in big games than Dallas is, but we all knew that already.
I really think the only improvement I could see for Dallas is cutting down on penalties and having Anthony Henry to fortify the secondary. I'd give New England a B+ and Dallas a B-. The Cowboys played hard and did a lot of things right.

Where Henry would have made a difference is on all of those third downs. Instead of Nate Jones being the nickel back, it would have been Reeves. Newman, Henry and Reeves are certainly better in coverage than Newman, Reeves, and Jones. Oh well, injuries are a part of the game.
Yep. The Patriots went 11/17 on 3rd downs. Like stated earlier, you're not going to stop anybody if they are that successful on 3rd downs. We need to work on that immediately. Many of those passes was on Nate Jones. Reeves was not the problem yesterday true. It was Jones. Brady picked on him like a child and it was to easy. That's why Welker had such a big first half becuase Jones couldn't cover him. It was a mismatch.

The season is not over yet and I do believe that Dallas can play with them. It was 31-24 WELL into the 4th quarter. Dallas has work to do and they know what they need to do. Remember Cowboy fans, we lost 31-7 in October 1992 to Philadelphia. We was outclassed in that game as well and the media had the same things to say about Dallas like they are saying now about Dallas. Dallas worked on what it needed to work on that season and took care of Philly the next two games beating them in the rematch at Texas Stadium and in the playoffs.

All is not lost! A 5-1 record at this point in the season is pretty good. Ask Philadelphia if they would trade records!

The Pats are simply the class of the NFL right now, but it doesn't mean they're unbeatable. An injury, an off-game, anything could cause them to slip. I think the Boys are probably close to Indy as well, so barring a perfect game from either team, we have a good shot at beating anyone in the league this year.

And Romo is just going to get better.

    New England's 12 possessions: 6 touchdowns, 2 FGs, 2 punts, 1 fumble, 1 knee at the half.

Goddamn. We stopped them three goddamned times.

One thing I have always wanted/expected when watching the Cowboys all these years, is DEFENSE. I hate it when the D plays so ty like they did yesterday. I would rather the offense suck ass than the defense. I would rather lose a game due to horrible offense rather than horrible defense. Peyton Manning would have easily ripped the cowboys secondary a new asshole as well. Cowboys have a load of work to do and they have serious concerns on the defensive side of the ball.

My only real concern for the defense is the soft playcalls on third down. Why the were they not blitzing on third downs? They were giving Brady all day, and we all know what he is capable of doing with time. And they were doing a good job of getting to him too, when they were blitzing. Allowing all those third down conversions was what won the game for the Patriots. If he had stopped them on just a few of them, I guarantee Dallas would have won the game.

Yeah, you have a better chance to win in a low-scoring defensive struggle than getting into a shootout when you can't stop anybody. The NFC is so bad that we still have to be considered the favorites to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. But I don't know how much we can make up the deficit that was exposed yesterday. NW didn't exactly play a flawless game themselves, and they will be well-prepared when it comes to the Super Bowl. Maroney didn't even play, and Watson didn't come back. He would've done some damage himself if he had been in there.

Dallas ultimately has themselves to blame for Romo's INT deep on their side of the field, calling a timeout and not being able to get a stop on 4th and 1, but I can understand Belichick's decision-making in this instance. You absolutely need that insurance touchdown when there was a threat that the Cowboys were going to go down and score three consecutive times in the final minute.

Unless I am off, it isnt just the Pats that will be owning our d (if it stays this way) but the Colts as well. Peyton will have his way and pick apart our secondary piece by piece. IF we make it out of the NFC, I promise you we will see the Pats or Colts. Even if we get the luxary of avoiding the Pats, the Colts offense would have easily presented similar matchup problems for our secondary.

So the Pats have to run scores up because the Boys qb coach may or may not have said something about past les? Classy

QB coach? Try Head Coach. Wade tried to deny it, but he ed up when he made that tainted comment. TO calling Adalius Thomas and talking didn't help.

ummm you forgot balls too. If our coach had any testicles he would have known better than to kick that fg down by 14 in the 4th against an offense who was getting anything they wanted. I was at the game yesterday and I already told people after that fg to start heading for the exits. I knew the game was over. That did nothing to the Cowboys momentum. If we miss the td chance oh well we cant stop them anyways plus they would of had to go 95 yards instead of 75 (which wouldnt have been any kind of a difference in us stopping them).

Let me ask you something mono, if the Pats were down 14 in the 4th with their d playing ty and it was 4th and goal at the 5, what do you think they would have done? I know in my eyes they would have gone for it as would have the Colts in that situation. Being a risk taker is necessary in crucial times of a game.

Except the Boys could have there second best corner by then, a new, really good dt, will have a better understanding of Phillips sytem, Ellis will be back 100%, and the Boys will have a much easier road the the SB than any team in the AFC.

for starters, that's never going to happen.

but to answer your question, yes I think they would have gone for it. They went for a 4th down in the middle of the field earlier in the game and the situation wasn't nearly as dire.

I have no doubt that Wade Phillips said what Peter King said he did, and that kind of thinking is shared around the league, but I can't believe he would've said that for public consumption. I bet it was a misunderstanding over what was attributed and offered on the record. As for TO, whatever, I didn't say that as calling out Randy Moss. The Patriots are good enough that they don't need to manufacture disrespect. Dallas couldn't stop them but Belichick is a classless guy.

Well nothing is a lock in the NFL. As ty as the NFC is, we will have to play our game to make it to Arizona. Of course I think things can change. However at this moment I will say the superbowl comes down to the Pats or Colts. Cowboys have ALOT of work to do if they want to realistically have any shot at winning a superbowl.

I don't get some of these coaching decisions. You're not going to beat NW playing it safe and conservatively. You don't score there, you've got them backed up inside their 10. Maybe they still go on down the field, ice the game with a score and eat up the clock, but you least make it harder for them. I see virtually no downside to going for it and not converting in that situation.

Another decision I didn't get was Holmgren going for it on 4th down inside the 20 with under two minutes and down by 11. They probably wouldn't have won anyway since they needed two scores sandwiched by onside kick, but it's just stupid.

Actually I think only 1 team could have a lead like that against New England if I had to pick and that would be the only team standing in the Pats way in the afc and superbowl trophy.

He also doesn't give a what you think. His rings don't either. People will keep talking and he'll keep winning. Expect a LOT more "classless" Belichick because after all the people are talking, he and that whole team is going to keep yelling a resounding " YOU" to everybody that gets in their way.

I think the only team they'll treat with any respect is the Colts, and deservedly so.

Yeah, they've really become the Evil Empire. Only Indy has a chance and stopping them. I don't see us beating them in the Super Bowl unless we dominate TOP running the ball and get a couple of turnovers.
