The ironic thing about it was that Dallas was supposed to be this big second half team. What happened? What happened is that they ran across an offense that is almost unstoppable. Does anyone remember how many times the Patriots punted in this game? Once, twice? Tom Brady put on a show so outstanding that the pokes really had no shot in this one. I mean five touchdowns? C'mon. Dallas was so glaringly outclassed and outplayed in the game that it was laughable. And how about the dozen or so penalties Dallas received? Talk about being intimidated out of your boots. New England had this heavily overrated Dallas team committing infractions seemingly on every play. Suffice it to say that it was literally men against 'Boys out there tonight. And as far as the running up the score allegations, don't think that Phillips would not have done the exact same if the roles were reversed. What I saw was a beatdown of immense proportions. A Texas Stadium whup ass for all time. Only this time it was the pokes getting their overhyped, high-flying asses whupped. Bravo New England.

i wouldnt call the cowboys overrated. they stayed in the game far longer than i expected. they were probably two big plays away from turning this into a nailbiter.

the cowboys will win the NFC easily

I don't know about winning the conference so easily. The Redskins, Packers and surely Seattle will have something to say about it.

The Redskins lost to Green Bay today. Seattle is getting it's ass handed to them by the Saints, the Saints for god's sake.

It's not going to be as hard as you make it out to be.

At least not by the teams you've pointed out.

Gotta give a team credit when they convert that many third downs. I don't think you can beat a bad team very often when you can't stop them on third down. The offense might have been able to give the defense some rest, but Romo didn't look remotely comfortable for the first quarter, probably due to the interceptions on Monday, and it was really too late by the time they got it sort of going. They played a very sloppy game and had a chance into the second half, but the Pats did a great job answering every challenge.

I agree about the stupid running up the score accusations. If they didn't want the Pats to score that last touchdown they shouldn't have called a timeout, or they could have perhaps stopped them. Why people get bent out of shape about the least significant touchdown of the game I have no idea. It doesn't matter to me how many points they lost by.

The Cowboys got a chance to find out how good they are, and they have some work to do. Nice to find that out now instead of later. I have a hard time being unhappy when they are tied for home field advantage and about as healthy as anyone after six weeks though. I like their chances against anyone in the NFC right now, and they clearly have room to improve. The Cowboys have a chance to be relevant going into the second half of the season.

This loss doesn't mean the Cowboys aren't good. It means the Patriots were really better. The gap between the top of the AFC to the top of the NFC was well illustrated today.

Fourth and goal from the 5 down 11 I think it was why didn't they just go for it? Also Classy of the cheaters to run up the score at the end of the game.

Yeah, but the gap isn't unbridgable. Starting off well, not making stupid penalties and maybe stopping someone on third down would have been helpful.

Agreed. Mistakes are always bad but fatal against the Pats.

Probably not the right call, but it's basically academic since the Cowboys failed to score again.

And let me say this again: If the Cowboys didn't want to get scored on, they shouldn't have called a timeout inside of two minutes. You do that to a team, you deserve to get rung up for another score.

they werent running up the score. it was 4th down. what else were they gonna do?? kneeing would be a turnover and you just dont do that. field goal would have been a bigger slap in the face. by running it, they challenged the dallas D to stop them and they didnt respond. the patriots did the same thing in buffalo and cleveland, only the bills and browns were able to make a stop

oh trust me, if the pats wanted to run up the score, it woulda been brady to moss

Dallas certainly could've played better, the penalties hurt and so did the gap in time of possession. But I think we can safely say that New England's A game beats our A game. Both teams could've played better, the Pats gave up a defensive touchdown and we had some success moving the ball. I agree with OV, playing them gives us a measuring stick to gauge how far we have to go. Clearly our secondary is the weak link. I don't know when the trade deadline is or how much of a difference Anthony Henry would've made, but we'll need much improvement from the secondary if we see them in February.

First and foremost props to the Pats. God that team is ing good. They kicked our asses all over the field today. Secondly... WADE PHILLIPS ON THAT DECISION IN THE 4TH! I am sorry but in a game where you are down by 2 touchdowns in the 4th quarter against an offense that was getting anything it wanted, that field goal was the stupidest coaching decision of the year. That was something Dave Campo did. The Pats were celebrating on the inside when they saw that. It was still a 2 possession game and the Pats had the ball with no momentum taken from them. A touchdown would have at least made it a game still. You grow a ing pair and go for the end zone. Worst case, they have to drive a longer field. Even if we wouldnt of stopped them, at least taking a chance could have kept them in the game a little longer. That fg ended the game right then and there. Pats are a disgusting team. The only team who has a realistic chance at them is the Colts. No one else stands a chance in .

i don't think anthony henry would have made a huge difference - reeves didn't cover all that bad, but he really could have tackled a lot better. roy would still have been forced to pretend he was covering someone. i wonder if getting tank on the team will help a little bit as far as pressure goes.

    Don't fret Cowboy fans.

    They aren't that far off.

One or two tweeks and the Boys win this game.

It was closer than the final score indicated.

i'm not fretting. i was happy they played well for a good amount of the game. after the patties went up 14-0 i thought it might be a really long day. i'd much rather have a 48-27 like this than one where they scored late to make it closer. they are a decent cover safety away from being a great defense.

    Oh geez.. fans.
Damned if you do and damned if you don't.
If Wade phillips went for it on 4th and 5 and turned the ball over on downs, ya'll would be saying this is what lost you the game.

Your coach said that if he had a play he knew they would score for sure, he would've called it on 3rd and 5.
If he didn't went for it, it's because 3pts are always better than 0pts. And most coaches like to challenge their defense rather than their offense(especially when they have a qb who threw 5INT few days earlier).
Your coach called a reasonnable play.

It certainly was closer, but they play this game 10 other times and the pats win 9 of them.

But I think we can safely say that New England's A game beats our A game.
Why would we say that? Neither team played their A game, and the Cowboys played terribly for the most part. You can safely say that New England is much better in big games than Dallas is, but we all knew that already.

Where Henry would have made a difference is on all of those third downs. Instead of Nate Jones being the nickel back, it would have been Reeves. Newman, Henry and Reeves are certainly better in coverage than Newman, Reeves, and Jones. Oh well, injuries are a part of the game.

cowboys looked good for most of the game. Penalties is what killed them, and not stopping NE on third down.
