his lack of perspective more than his hate is mind boggling
There are two perspectives that are mind-boggling to me. One is that he wants the individual QB touchdown record to stand ... As I said, the Colts have run up the score many times to ensure that record.

The second thing is he is worried about Peyton vs. Brady records, the one he should be the most worried about is Super Bowl rings. But I guess he realizes Peyton may never catch up So better to wish a broken leg upon him.

    i totally agree with you.
The other perspective i might want to add is health vs stats or records.
(Like Dungy said, just to show his perspective, God doesn't care about football) and he was right. I can't understand how someone may wish harm to anybody due to sports. WTF

Has Brady ever had a serious Injury?

I dont think he will ever get hurt unless he is on the cover of Madden.

I dont see what the difference is during a 1 TD game or a 6 TD game.
If you get hurt you get hurt.
I dont really think staying in a game will make you get hurt.
people look into that to much.

I have no problem with a team that tries to run up the score. Screw all this you have to have class talk, it is not your problem if the other teams' feelings are getting hurt. If you do not want them doing it, then stop them. But you must know that it comes with some risks and if somebody decides to take their anger out on Brady or whomever, I would not feel the least bit sorry for the Patriots, they knew the risks which is why if I were Bellichek I would not do this.

You don't think class and sportmanship belongs in sports?

I think there is always a place for both of those and I think they are both in short supply in this "Lemme see if Im on SportsCenter cause I gots ta get mine!" sports world.

That being said, I don't think scoring as many points as you can is a classless act in pro sports. Those guys are paid on both sides of the ball and both teams draw from the same talent pool. Its not like Texas or OU playing SE Little Sisters of the Poor State Tech and leaving McCoy or Bradford in when you are up by 40. Defensive players are paid to stop offensive players and offensive guys are paid to get past them.

Standing over a player and talking when he is hurt or cheering when a player is down is classless, scoring points isn't.

    Just my .02.

You make a good point and perhaps I chose my words wrong. It is absolutely classless to cheer and taunt an injured player and I for one would never stand for it. I was mainly thinking about people getting all bent out of shape because of a little smack talking and that sort of thing. If you cannot take that well...

True. Most of the trash talk that goes on is really harmless and fun. Its part of the game and you shake hands afterward. There are times when players cross the line but that is usually the exception rather than the rule.

I do agree with you about Brady going down. I would never wish or hope for a player to get injured but just like I don't feel sorry for teams getting scored on, I would not feel sorry for the Pats if someone went down. It works both ways.

The stuff I hate about the Patriots is how they always brag that they are so mentally strong, dont care or even listen to what other people say about their team, and instead of talking crap, they just do their business, and after the game, get started on the next week instead of getting involved in other pointless nonsense... so I'd like them to explain to me that if they don't care, get involved, or listen to what other people say about them, why are they so ing quick to mock other teams, or to get offended so easily and are all sensitive when someone merely makes a joke about them??? If they don't listen or care what other people say, then why would they mock things like the Eagles wing flap, or the Steelers Terrible Towel and mocking Steelers fans, or the popcorn joke of T.O. which actually had NOTHING to do with the Patriots? So much for not listening or caring about that stuff, or not letting it get to you... Most of those guys are ing fake-ass hypocrites, and that is one of the biggest reasons why I can't stand the Patriots. The only guys that I respect on that team are Tom Brady (about as perfect of a model of professionalism in sports today) and Randy Moss (most talented reciever ever, keeps quiet and does his business on the field).

If some got take his frustations out on Brady and injures him because his team sucks major ass, then Cassel replaces Brady and the Patriots are still blowing out teams and are so called ''running up the score'' on opponents, then who should get injured next on the Patriots? Cassel? whos just a replacement for Brady, The whole OL? The WR's? What about the FB and TE?
Remember this is a TEAM sport. It's not just about Brady. Brady isn't doing this on his own. Give credit where credit is due. DB's, Punters, Kickers, LB's, the whole DL are doing there part for team as well. You take out Brady you might as well take out the whole Patriots team. Put Joe Montana in his prime as the 07 dolphins or rams QB, he won't even put up the numbers that he's capable of. You take out Brady and there still ''running up the score'', who you gonna take out next to prevent them from doing such a ''classless act''.

SMH at the way haters and iggants think.

If Brady goes down, the Pats season is over. Cassel isnt going to do jack . He is one guy the Pats CANT lose and still overcome adversity like they did with TY Law etc.

without Brady the Patriots aren't championship material, that much is true. the Colts would wipe the floor with them. But even without Brady they're still a playoff team in the AFC.

with all these weapons, Quincy Carter could lead the Patriots to a 10-6 record. maybe more, considering Quincy led a ty Dallas team to a 10-6 record once.

it almost sounds like i'm knocking Brady here, but considering this team has a decent shot at going completely undefeated with Brady...

    Very true.

    Brady is the key.

Well even if Brady is out, I still think the Patriots are Championship material. They just have too many weapons IMO. At least Brady isn't on the defensive side, right?
I don't know but the only compe ion I see for the patriots is the colts and no one else. Defense wins championships last time I checked, I mean Trent freakin Dilfer won a le as THE QB for the Ravens so.......

Brady or no Brady, The Patriots D is the key to their overall success this season.

You don't like the score run up, play some in defense.
Amen. And BTW, should Cowher even be talking about this? He coached in the NFL just two seasons ago.

He also developed & coached the most classless player this side of Bill Romanowski. That being Joey Porter.

I'm not aware, or don't recall, of what classless stuff Porter has done. What did he do?

Remember when the Pats won thier first le in 2001? And everyone was like "wow, what an amazing story to see Brady come off the bench and lead them to the SB after 9/11." And How great an underdog it was and how nice it was to see the Rams lose.

Now people are like " Brady and the Pats, I hope they all die in a fire"

  20. #45
Nobody needs to take cheap shots. If you want to send a message don't take a cheap shot on the QB's or anyone else's knees, just put double coverage on Moss and have your CB stand him up while your safety lays him out a couple of plays in a row. That should be enough to get attention.

Belichick and Brady were trying to send a message running it up on Washington last week. So why should anyone be upset about the idea of some other team sending a message to the Pats, particularly if they are down late in the game and Brady's still going deep?

    Karma is a .

If they do this against other teams, what are they going to do to the Jets? The team that turned them in? Allegedly.

    Could get ugly.

I wonder if Cowher would take a shot late in a game against Brady if he was coaching a team that the pats were running up the score on. Im guessing a big yeah.

I think the magic number in the Jet game is 74.

It wouldn't surprise me if they went for 2 after every TD.
