    launch unit, no probs, even if i do get the red lights, i'd still rather game on a 360 than a ps3. heck, i'd even go out and buy another one(elite).

    Probably jinxing myself but I have 2 360s (one for playing games and one for XNA dev) and I've never had an issue with either one. Luck of the draw I guess.
    You don't need a debug kit to run homebrew? How exactly does this work for retail? Is it only XNA, or can you do C++ with DirectX too? (I hate .NET)

    It should be XNA only - and XNA is supported by XBL, I believe it was pushed out last update. You just have to go to the website and sign up, pay the $ and such.
