Went home after buying COD4 last night, popped it in the console.
I got the dreaded 3 Rings of Microsoft Xbox360 Death.
Going to be a month until I get it back.

...I have yet to meet someone with a 360 that hasn't had issues with the rings of death or other issues with crashing.

ing Microsoft makes me mad as . I had a great, second generation X360, everything was working perfectly except for my disc tray. All that needed to be done was to have a belt replaced in the drive; I could have done it myself in a few minutes, but I didn't want to void the warranty just in case I got the three ring in the next 2 years.Love the Call of Duty series on Xbox360

Guess what, ers send me a refurb unit. The fans are way louder, which tells me the CPU must be running way hotter than in my freaking prev unit. I can't believe it. you Microsoft.

I mean lets face facts, if you have Stacy to play with and your spending your time playing poker, fantasy sports, and video games..........
Before you do that lets give it a good flush and install XP and take it to a high school like Burbank or Jefferson and give it to a student that is doing well in school but has a single parent? I gave away 2 PC's and two notebooks in 2004-2005 and it was a great feeling to know you helped someone get ahead in life. I even get e mails and thank you cards from two the the students every year one student is still in collage in California.

Just because its way cheaper than a PS3. Now I dont know what to do. I thought that RROD ordeal was a thing of the past
rumor is ps3 is adding divx and xvid support with new firmware.
Probably jinxing myself but I have 2 360s (one for playing games and one for XNA dev) and I've never had an issue with either one. Luck of the draw I guess.
Newer ones shouldn't be a problem, make sure you look for the ones with HDMI. I've had an elite since they came out and it gets no hotter than my original XBox.Damn, I was just planning on getting a 360 to Play COD4 and Assassins Creed.
