spurstalk is the best basketball forum there is. im surprised people havent asked me why me, a celts fan, would post here. and the sad truth is that there are no quality C's forum on the internet

Tippecanoe and Tyler too, I feel you. There are no places where sport fans can post and not be banned almost immediately but also, there are very many quality posters as well. From Way Downtown, comes to mind.

I guess we have different priorities. I usually don't let a game get me down that much. I mean, I felt bad for Duncan, I really did. I hoped it was nothing serious, and was happy to hear it wasn't... but anything more than that is a bit much in my book.

Of course, there are different approaches to everything.
Thats because it was Tim. If it was Manu you would have cried all night long.

    This place is pretty sweet.

The Sean Taylor incident, however, did seem to put a kind of thing like this into perspective.

The differences between SR and ST are overrated. There is more freedom here, which includes freedom to be a re . They both have good posters. I don't see the big brand loyalty issue.

I didn't cry when Manu fell hard during the first half last game did I? Stop talking out of your ass please. Of course I wouldn't like Manu getting hurt. I didn't like Timmy getting hurt either... but I'm not stuck to my monitor waiting for updates is all I'm saying

It's not brand loyalty, it's where you're comfortable.
Lots of people post on both.
Some on one or the other.
I like it here, but I have no issue with them.

I just find the sites to have completely different atmospheres.
Freedom is part of it, but it's more than that. It just feels different here. I can't seem to say it any other way...it feels like family here. It's not just a bunch of strangers that like a sports team.

I've cried over a few football games I've been in involved in over the years...losing Homecoming and Senior Night this past year was tough. But not over my favorite pro/college team...

I didn't mean to start a group hug.

I just wanted to thank ST, and point out that other "message boards" don't feel like this. ST is special, I don't think I'm the only one that thinks so. I just decided to say it.

And somebody better buy Sequ a beer Wednesday.

No matter how much we get into it with fans of other teams, and our beloved trolls, no one here would even think of scaring this board like that.
Yeah, we don't have anybody like that around here . . .

I had a couple of things I wanted to say to you guys.

I don't have any Spurs fans around me, this board is my connection to my team. (Like lots of us I'm sure.)
The past 24 hours were hard for Spurs fans, for Duncan fans, while waiting to hear that Duncan was okay.
It was really nice to not feel alone. To worry with you, to breathe a sigh of relief with you.

Thanks. It feels like family here.

The other thing...I lurk at Spurs Report now and then and I wandered over there this morning to see how they were handling it. What I found was a stickied thread at the top of the board warning that anyone that posted a "practical joke" thread on Duncan's injury would be banned.

What a difference there is between these two sites. Kori didn't seem to find it necessary to warn this community about doing such a thing. No matter how much we get into it with fans of other teams, and our beloved trolls, no one here would even think of scaring this board like that. Our worst trolls, the ones here to only stir things up, didn't start such a thread.

There's a reason so many are here every day, lots of them not even Spurs fans. Kori and timvp have made us a home, created a family. We can fight like siblings but there's support when things seem bleak and there's laughter when all is well.

Thanks SpursTalk. I don't know where I'd be without you.
I just want to say that, not only are your basketball takes solid, but you're all class!

BTW, where do you live? I assumed you were a San Antonian.

You must spend a lot of the season under your bed then.
