I had a couple of things I wanted to say to you guys.
I don't have any Spurs fans around me, this board is my connection to my team. (Like lots of us I'm sure.)
The past 24 hours were hard for Spurs fans, for Duncan fans, while waiting to hear that Duncan was okay.
It was really nice to not feel alone. To worry with you, to breathe a sigh of relief with you.
Thanks. It feels like family here.
The other thing...I lurk at Spurs Report now and then and I wandered over there this morning to see how they were handling it. What I found was a stickied thread at the top of the board warning that anyone that posted a "practical joke" thread on Duncan's injury would be banned.
What a difference there is between these two sites. Kori didn't seem to find it necessary to warn this community about doing such a thing. No matter how much we get into it with fans of other teams, and our beloved trolls, no one here would even think of scaring this board like that. Our worst trolls, the ones here to only stir things up, didn't start such a thread.
There's a reason so many are here every day, lots of them not even Spurs fans. Kori and timvp have made us a home, created a family. We can fight like siblings but there's support when things seem bleak and there's laughter when all is well.

My heart stopped for a few seconds when i heard the news about his injury... The same happened when i saw Bruno's topic about MRI... until i read it that is.

But I wasn't trying to knock them as much as I'm trying to point out how different the sites are. I know there are lots of people who post on both. But for me, only ST works. There's a different mindset here. It's a community. It seems like more than just a "message board."

Didn't keep me up at all.
But I hung around here today when I could waiting for news. And there were lots of people doing the same.
I was worried, I think we all were. It looked bad. As fans we were concerned about our season, our chance for a repeat. Duncan's health.
It was nice to be around people who were worried too. That's all.
I don't do the cliff thing. Never have.
I love the at ude of some people along the lines of, if you have an emotional investment in your team or a player, you need help. I love the Spurs and Tim Duncan and i as well was VERY upset about this and worried about his health and NO i don't feel there is anything wrong with that.
Nothing like this place.

so glad I found this place as opposed to Spurs Report...I am also depraved from Spurs fans (ONE at my school, also a WF fan, go figure), and when I saw the replay this morning on SC...my heart stopped.

I guess we have different priorities. I usually don't let a game get me down that much. I mean, I felt bad for Duncan, I really did. I hoped it was nothing serious, and was happy to hear it wasn't... but anything more than that is a bit much in my book.
Of course, there are different approaches to everything.
Well, i literally curl up in fetal position and cry myself to sleep under my bed any time Sheed gets a Technical Foul.

Although i love my p.com i got to say this place is great. I was sooo relieved to find a place where i could say and not get banned.
