you are an idiot.
Tim is the center of the Spurs universe. All things revolve around him. Without Tim there is no light.
The best thing is, when Tim comes back, he'd be fine about Manu and Tony keeping their production up and could give a about his own stats.
exactly
there might be a remote possibility of this being conceivably true if Duncan was your average star that had to star, the focus of the offense night in and night out. But Duncan has the uncanny ability to fade into a supporting role when need be. meaning that as long as he is able to play defense, or catch a pass and make a layup more consistently the Elson, this team will be better with him then without him.
the way Duncan plays, this team will be better with him until he is 44![]()
the biggest thing Duncan brings is defense.
Even if hets 0 points, his impact on the defensive is astronomical.
Utah had like 44 points in the paint tonight (or something crazy) and there is absolutely no way that would happen with TD anchoring the middle.
Absolutely no way. I know you were just trying to get a dissusion going but any Spurs fan knows that it starts and ends with TD. We're a good team without him and would probably make the playoffs. Might even get out of the first round if we got some breaks but that's it.
Spurs with no Tim couldnt get any ring. Ginobili sucks. Argentines are always talking about GINOBILI, OBERTO....they are less than my spanish ass
theyve been playing good, but barely winning, lets not forget who really won us rings
zaratustra007, why all the hate? Ginobili doesnt suck, and i would be willing to bet your ass is worthless after every time PHX bends you over in the playoffs
hohoho Lakers will kill spurs
Maybe you should stay with your mom.....she could do your laundry and cook for you.
Even when Duncan is sleepwalking, he's twice as productive as the average player. Teams do not get better when they lose someone who would individually contribute as much as any two people you could find to replace him.
The only reason anyone could even consider thinking this is because we've seen the Spurs win with Duncan and lose with Duncan -- we know what both of those look like. We are much less used to seeing the Spurs win without Duncan, and we haven't lost without Duncan in recent memory. The surprise of these wins makes them seem more special. It's just rose colored glasses syndrome with regards to play without Duncan.
As fabulous as these last two wins have been, any win without Duncan has a much greater element of luck to it than a win with Duncan does. And someday, Manu and Tony are going to have an off night in the same game. When that happens, I hope we have Duncan back to save the day for us.

Shoog, JB, Spurm, and of course Pego all rule.
The rest of you fail on so many levels.
You're an idiot.
Spurs could have had won that game by 20 if Duncan was there. Utah would not have shot 70% in the first and third quarters.
Nuff said.
Yes, they are certainly a better Free Throw shooting team without that loser...

sounds like a bid for a Dikta thread for TD.
here's wishing for a big game by TD against the shine boys so we can have him on the Dikta thread

Agree. This should not even be discussed.
Without Tim, we would have to run Manu into the ground before postseason to win games.
Tim gives us a of a lot better defense, even if he isn't scoring, which is usually not the case in the postseason.
No doubt we have to have Tim to win another Championship, no matter how well the rest of the team is taking up the slack right now. They can only play on adrenalin so long.
In a way, I'm glad we have been able to show that we can still be a force, without Tim in the lineup, but I'm ready for him to be back. We need to keep everyone fresh throughout the season. With Tim sitting, that just ain't gonna happen.
The annual ' are the spurs better withour duncan thread?'.
No
Bait, hook, catch.
Buncha people got sucker punched by pego in this thread.
with tim, we are champion. while without tim, we make playoff, but not that far.
I see we have another "I'm a great junior high dropout" joining the forum.
Who did you inherit your high IQ from?
No question about it.
What these duncan-less games proved is that the Spurs aren't duncan-dependant. And that's something pretty ing scary for the rest of the league.
This team goes nowhere in the playoffs w/out Duncan
No.
What the is there to "discuss?"
Silly thread.
