Both are fast and both play underrated defense....that is where the similarities stop.

Parker is far and away a better finisher than Barbosa on offense. He also has improved each year in this league at running a team and finding players around him. He has also closed the gap in the only category where Barbosa has an edge....shooting.

Barbosa is a great scorer....but he hasn't improved his game beyond that and is not the answer at PG for the Suns when Nash retires.

Parker, on the other hand, is an elite player that will continue to improve and will be among the league's elite when he hits his prime in a few years....remember he's only 25.

    Yao + T-Mac + Scola = Rockets still suck.

This is like saying "Who's better? Wilt Chamberlain or James Donaldson?" ! It's no contest. Parker is by far the superior player. I wouldn't mind having Barbosa coming off the bench for a spark, but he's not even close to Parker.

Barbosa is better at Spanish than Parker.
barbossa is brazilian, right? shouldn't it be Portugese?

anyway, barbossa has nothing on parker when it comes to French.

pipi, absolutely Parker is better. I don't think Barbosa plays with his brain. But Parker plays much wiser this year than any season before.

    WTF?

I wouldn't trade Parker for three Barbosas. Barbosa has Elson level basketball IQ. And if a team knows how to play defense, they can pretty much take away most of what he likes offensively.
    +1

Comparing Parker to Barbosa is like comparing a midget to a dwarf. They are both small and share some of the same characteristics but the only difference is that the dwarf doesnt have soul.

Parker is one of the top five at his position in the league.

Barbosa may have won Sixth Man of The Year, but win he becomes MVP of a playoff series or MVP of the NBA Finals, then this question can be revisited.

    As for right now, please!

Be nice to our Chinese Spurs fans.
To be chinese doesn't protect anyone about our criticism or even worse our humor...

Anyhow Barbosa is great, one of those gems we lost, but Tony is a Playmaker in normal days he is fantastic, Barbosa is a shooter, has no hesitation to go to the rim.

If I had to chose I'll take TP over Barbosa, but after Toronto's game I'm not sure

maybe it's a signal to the rest of the troupe, you know? like the baboons on national geographic. could be his way of signalling a play.
