This is definitely a genius-level IQ thread.
I'm not giving an * to anybody to try to diminish their accomplishment. I don't like that those guys were the ones to go 16-0, but they did it and deserve all of the props. The spygate stuff was for years past and should be considered as such, but this team legitimately beat everybody that was put in front of them.
If it was so much easier wouldn't more teams be doing it?
*note to self: Buy radio helmet. Life will be perfect. Sweet.
19-0 will be an even better feeling.
WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS NO TIME FOR LOSERS CUZ WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS...OF THE WORLD!!!
That is why the Patsies have to be given props to some level.
What is it about our society that we must tear down the accomplishments of others, even in something as trivial as sport?
Was Madison hurt?
inconvertible?
New York media?
Beuhler?
thats a great point...something thats always irritated me. although, we disagree about sports, i think they are extremely important. btw, is saying sports are trivial tearing down the accomplishments of others?
i don't think its comparable. that being said, the Pats going 16-0, as i've already said, is incredible on its own regardless of whether they win the superbowl or not.
i disagree for reasons already stated.
I would agree with that. It is a unique and special accomplishment. That being said, I don't think they should be included in the "best ever team" conversation unless they win the Super Bowl, which I think they will.
Why even compare the two teams? Different generation, different league.
It really isn't any comparison. Besides, New England still needs to win 3 more games to even be considered the best ever
If they lose the Super Bowl, then they would cement their place as the 43rd-best team of the Super Bowl era.
If they don't reach the Super Bowl, they would cement their place as the 85th-best team of the Super Bowl era.
...they're the best team i have ever seen, whether they win the superbowl or not.
70s Steelers, Joe Montana 49ers grasshopper.
For me, its the 85 Bears. If the Pats go 19-0, I will have to re-think that.
lol, 2005 USC Trojans
lets not forget, you've only been watching football for like 5-10 years. your opinion is absolutely worthless in this case.
those reasons are wrong.
So Joe Montana's four rings and Tom Brady's three asterisks walk into a bar. . .
....and they see Peyton Manning sheepishly holding the one championship ring that Rex Grossman fumbled right into his hands...
Mono, do I even need to tell you how much 4>0 smack you would have layed on me this entire season had the Colts not double- smacked the Pats in the face last January? Yet since the Colts won it, it's okay to say beating Grossman's team isn't impressive.
...and Tom Brady with the rings that Mike Martz handed to him, John Kasay kicked out of bounds to him, and Donovan McNabb threw to him. All while being handed video tapes and recordings of opposing teams play-calls and signals.
And then Rich Gannon sidearms a ring over to Keyshawn.
