And you know this because ?
The quote doesn't say he doesn't want to play anymore.
And you know this because ?
T Park is white.
PJ Brown is retired and doesn't want to come back.
Any more questions?
I know huh.................I said this at #2.
Is today opposite day or something?
Spurs are not going to go after a guy who doesn't care about playing anymore. , why should we want them to?
Could Spurs be in the hunt for P.J. Brown?
Wire Reports
Tuesday, February 26, 2008
In a surprising development, Marty Burns of Sports Illustrated is reporting that P.J Brown, a 34-year-old power forward who has been living in Louisiana since finishing out his contract with the Bulls last season, has backed off his previous decision to stay retired and is now seriously mulling an offer to join an NBA team.
"The Hornets are widely assumed to be the front-runner, but the Suns, Mavs, Spurs and Celtics also could be in the hunt. Bartelstein, who also represents Brown, would not specify which teams had made offers, but he did say Brown had undergone a change of heart and was now weighing his NBA options."
San Antonio tried to sign Brown to a free-agent contract, but he opted for the Hornets at the time. Gregg Popovich and R.C. Buford have long been fans of Brown's defensive abilities and rebounding.
Highly unlikely.
1. It never hurts to drop the Spurs as a potential suitor when trying to elicit the best possible offer for your client.
2. Brown as frontcourt bench depth would be nice.
Maybe it's similar to the Artest thing. Because if we were to sign Brown, that would mean no Barry, right?
Maybe the Spurs are trying to block another team, but it doesn't seem like there would be much for PJ to do here.
Why now?
Would someone mind explaining the purpose of signing Brown.
I figured Duncan/Oberto/Thomas/Horry was good enough.
I guess I'd be for it, but would it be at the expense of Barry?
Or is this PJ trying to draw interest from other teams?
Keep him from another team, make his price higher for a rival, and/or insurance.
When has the agent of a player considering more than one team NOT mentioned the Spurs?

Agree.
Could have made sense before we landed Kurt but probably not anymore.
I first bumped this thread for the naysayers.
Signing PJ Brown would be awesome, but he wouldn't get much time.
If it's claiming that Brown in 34, maybe this article is 5 years old...
He is signing with Boston today...
If Brown is 34 years old, he would have just satisified the Spurs FO age requirements for free agent consideration.
"No free agent players signed or trades made for any players under the age of 34."
where did you read that?![]()
And why do we need PJ Brown? Is it because we haven't filled the 15th?
yup he signed with Boston

So Boston was waiving PJ at Barry to entice him.
He is at the age of my grandfatherHe cant give anything to Boston Celtics.
